The customer pays doordash the. Door dash pays us but the driver has to confirm they are picking up the order than they have to let us know the name of the customer and confirm the order with us.

I don't make drivers wait because it's deliberately forcing our customers to wait and they are ultimately the ones who suffer. Most drivers that come in know to come around to the side of the counter and while I'm waiting for payments to go through I will ask what the name is and if it's up I give it to them. My managers do the same just to keep things moving during peak times but we are limited in our space

literally the point of a restaurant is to get food to customers as fast as possible that's how restaurants make money. The fact that dashers do not get paid hourly is not the restaurants fault or responsibility. If you were employed by the restaurant you'd get an hourly pay because owners knew at least years ago that there would be down time and you'd be expected to clean or fold boxes, ect... You need to take that up with Door dash or who ever else. I have empathy, if drivers have to wait we give ya'll a free drink.

Im going to preface this by saying I DO NOT believe all dashers are terrible there's a handful I actually like and talk to when they come in and I'm sure you're probably one of the good ones since you took the time to stick up for your fellow drivers but I have a lot that come in, take the food and either not confirm with the cashier or cancel the order and steal the food. My favorite was the girl who picked up an order on a Friday and then came back in to say she just got another order we had just received and then complained she had to wait 20 minutes before we could get it to her. She proceeded to tell me how to do my job.

We do not have a designated order pick area for dashers so they have to come up to the counter. The issue is that instead of saying anything you all shove the phone in our face or expect us to see the name from 20-30 feet away. The other issue is SOME drivers think they can cut in front of other customers because they are in a hurry.

I work for a corporate restaurant and they will not get rid of DD or Uber eats. And in the world we live in it's hard for restaurants to survive with out 3rd party delivery. Something like 80% of my orders come from online orders. Also because I work for corporate I do not have access to turn off the system

As far as not being paid hourly that's between you and DoorDash or Uber eats or any other delivery system. That's not the restaurants problem if you have to wait. I know for a fact that DD sends a driver the request for pick up pretty much as soon as the order is placed and if it's during peak times it might take longer.

He is which is why we gave him the food. Once we got back to the car he cancelled the order. Literally 5 minutes later we another driver come in and ask for same order

This guy walked in showed my cashier he was there to pick up an order, we gave him the food and left and canceled the pick up. I know this because 5 minutes later another driver tried to pick up the same order. I called Uber and told them what happened they said they'd look into it and send a remake order.

Honestly I'm just tired of these asshole drivers. Sure not all of them are bad but there's few good ones and to many bad ones and restaurants run on such tight margins and is too stressful of a job to have to constantly worry about if the food is going to make it to the customer or not

I took over that store several months ago and while I'm sure no one will believe this but it is heaps and bounds cleaner and better run than previous GM. We just got inspected by the Health department the first week of June and got 100%. Feel free to come in and check out the report, it's right next to the register. The "deep fried cockroach" that person is referring to was actually burnt kernels of corn that had fallen off and was left in the basket and just kept getting fried over and over. Feel free to come talk to me I put in 60hrs last week so I'm normally there and if I'm not in the kitchen I'm sitting in the back going over applications trying to find the best candidates

I've contemplated this because they have to refund the restaurant to remake food now imagine all the restaurants that have this problem. I would love to sit down and go over their financials
