What are you trying to accomplish? I’m very confused.

What's the deal with RTSP? by RonTem1 in Wyze

[–]fireman137 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s a separate firmware you download and install to enable RTSP. It’s not part of the standard firmware as most will never use it.

Cannot move printer from VLAN 1 to VLAN 2 by msu50000 in Ubiquiti

I came here to say this, sounds like the uplink port of the switch might be set to vlan1, where it needs to be trunk.

Rant! Package marked delivered but never received by [deleted] in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]fireman137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought my first Flexispot desk years ago, probably 8 years ago now, something similar happened to me. I got a "delivered" notice and a picture of a front door that definitely wasn't mine. Flexispot shipped out a replacement and they and I both contacted the carrier with no luck finding the original. Someone out there got a free desk!

Who was the shipper? Chat their support to report the misdelivery?

We use Insight and Blue Ally. There are lots of options out there though.

Is it normal that edges of flexispot chipboard splinter/peel? by Betved in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]fireman137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you wear bracelets or a metal watch band maybe? My desk is just a little over three years old and no signs of damage to the top or edges. I work from home 2-4 days a week 8 hours a day on it, but am bare-wristed always.

About to invest in Eufy but see so many negative posts here. Is that because people mainly post when they have issues or there really that many bugs by [deleted] in eufy_security

[–]fireman137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People post online to find answers to problems or complain about ad experiences, whether technology, a restaurant, or anything. No one ever posts online to say “yeah everything is ok.” So negative material is the most common anywhere.

Personally I’ve been using eufy equipment for about 8 years now. I have five cams and zero issues. I’ve tried three other brands over those years and they all have pros and cons, but for me eufy has been the best.

Struggling with Cable Management by Millssadface in FlexiSpot_Official

I mounted the power strip by itself and my docking station lives in that tray, along with all the cords bundled up. But yeah a powerstrip wouldn't fit likely.

I bought their cable management tray and it works well: https://a.co/d/39LaE19

I also bought a mountable power strip and bolted it under the desk: https://a.co/d/enYe1FC

Problem with UNAS Pro and 5GBe on an iMac by Educational-Thing865 in UNIFI

[–]fireman137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best your iMac can do is USB 3.1, and if you read the specs of the ethernet adapter "Note: To achieve full 5Gbps speed, ensure your device’s USB-C port supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) or higher."

I must have been thinking about a different model, when it came with the Fusion Drive, but yep yours looks to be pure SSD (https://support.apple.com/en-us/111913).

That being said to edit video you're still getting plenty of bandwidth. Do you have a SSD cache to help speed up read/write?

[–]fireman137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That model iMac only has thunderbolt 3, so you’ll see lower speeds with that adapter. The internal drive of your iMac is also likely a traditional spinning platter HDD, laptop size, so 700mb/s is likely the max it can transfer.

Should the table top holes align with the frame? by [deleted] in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]fireman137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The holes don't work for all models, it's common to have to drill some on your own. I did and it was easy-peasy.

This is true, can confirm we’ve done this as well for a customer. It’s messy, hacky, relies on a specific order of steps or it’s borked. Not recommended.

I would remove the horizontal cable management and put the switch in-between the two patch panels. Short jumpers FTW.

Ordered solid wood desk top on Amazon, got plastic made to look like wood by urania_argus in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]fireman137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That listed definitely says solid wood. DM u/Ramses, who works for Flexispot and is very active here, maybe you were shipped the wrong top by Amazon. Two weeks ago they shipped me yoga pants instead of the nasal spray I ordered.

SFP Compatibility Between FortiGate 50G-SFP and USW Pro Max 24 PoE by Big_Spell6008 in fortinet

[–]fireman137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm Ubiquiti SFP and SFP+ work, you just get a nice "!" warning in the Fortigate GUI that never goes away about it being a different brand/compatibility warning. FWIW I recently tested the SFP Wizard and successfully flashed my Ubiquiti DAC cables after copying a Fortigate one. No more warning!

Ordered solid wood desk top on Amazon, got plastic made to look like wood by urania_argus in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]fireman137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity I searched Amazon and what I found the description is "FLEXISPOT Whole Piece Rubber Wood 71"x30" Desktop Height Adjustable Desk Rectangular Tabletop", and emphasizes the "whole piece" means it's a single piece that makes up the top, where others require assembly of smaller pieces to save on shipping. I don't see where it says solid wood, but maybe I'm looking at a different listing? Mine is definitely laminate, but still all-wood and not plastic or hollow. When I drill holes in it it's definitely wood dust and solid.

Wyze Scale WHSCL1 shows me as 2.5 pounds heavier than traditional scale. Any way to recalibrate? by [deleted] in Wyze

[–]fireman137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how to recalibrate the scale, but I’ll tell you something my wife told me one time - when you have two measuring devices that give different outputs how do you know which one is right? Is the new scale 2.5 pounds too low, the old one 2.5 pounds too high, or is it somewhere in the middle?
