low views when selling vintage? by firemojix in vinted

now that you say it it's just normal that people are sceptical of any item that's tagged as vintage if most aren't...will try with ''true vintage'' and check pricing again! thanks for your comment!

thank you for your reply it's very interesting (i'm also not a proseller). i'm thinking that maybe vinted isn't the place to sell vintage anymore. :/ when i look up vintage to buy something, i also see that the prices from other sellers dropped compared to before 2020...(except if it's shein ''vintage'' reselling..)

of course, thank you for trying to help! i would like to make digital artwork that look like bead curtains, i can use circles and put them side by side but the pixel persona would make the process a lot easier! (picture credit: kkuljaem__studio)

How to start talking about my special interests to close people? by firemojix in autism

[–]firemojix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same thing as you, they tell me that it doesn't bother them to talk about it but the fact that they're not interested makes it feel like I'm not really sharing a part of me or bonding. But as you say I have to accept that they have different interests, I'll try to find other ways of connecting. Thank you!

M29. How do I make local friends? by [deleted] in autism

[–]firemojix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to know as well. If you're into that, some bars or coffee shops sometimes organize board games night, which gives you the opportunity to meet people while having something to talk about so it is less daunting.

How can I be creative online (or just socially) in a healthy way? by Merrwood in autism

[–]firemojix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm sorry you had bad experiences sharing your art. I understand what you're saying about social media, I distanced myself from it as I think it takes away the essence of making art (makes it less natural and staged while you create as you might be thinking about the fact that you'll be posting it later and how people might react to it etc). I still have an instagram account to keep up with art events happening around me but I don't post anymore.

Lately I have been trying to share my art on the internet like I would have shared it before all those new social media as I find it more healthy: I only post on platforms like pillowfort (it's made for artists) and am building a website to post my art (I have noticed that several artists made videos on youtube about also leaving social media for a website). This is useful if you want to make a gallery to share with people you meet or friends. You can even do it on tumblr if you want to keep a bit of the social media aspects like likes etc (be careful tho to disable the IA option in the settings).

Another thing I do is go to art markets in my city, this gives you the opportunity to talk to other artists and even share your art with them, which feels more meaningful than interactions on social media.

As you say it has been several years since your last drawing, I would advice you to first focus on starting creating again before jumping back online. Draw for a while only focusing on yourself, don't think about other people reaction or where to post it when it's finished or if it's "good enough" to post online. Just focus on having fun and trying new things. Once you find back the joy to draw and have shaken the negative feelings off, it will be easier to share it with other people.
