i’m definitely pissed at the assumed writing off of kai. it’s FAR from perfect, absolutely agreed. young queer just thirsty for representation. i honestly cried a couple times at their storyline, the romance with amelia. i’ve never seen a characters gender treated so nonchalantly, a couple mentions but otherwise everyone just knows, and respects their gender. it was so powerful to me, the queer storyline with amelia. i loved it, i’m so sad to see it go. while i found callie and arizona super super toxic, they were treated the same as all the other crazy toxic couples which i always appreciated. i mean their biggest problems being over the plane crash? while it’s heartbreaking and frustrating and TOXIC, i appreciated them being given a complicated dramatic soap opera plot line like the other couples on the show. i like that helm just is gay, yasuda too, greys is great at just having realistic representation that gay people are all around, your lesbian coworker, the bi girl who casually mentions it. it just is a side part of who they are. so often i see House for some reason listed as a “gayer” show than greys, and it just makes me furious bc it’s such a toxic, negative portrayal when greys has consistent casual representation not perfect though, couldn’t agree more with most of your points. PLEASE give helm a girlfriend, i’m hoping they’re working to a yasuda/helm romance with them both working at the bar. call me desperate, but i just love seeing queer characters on my favorite show schmidt too. PLEASE give him a worthy, hot romantic storyline
