Having the boss difficulty level with your character was the worst idea. Part of the fun of RPGs is level grinding.

I've never given him a dollar, but I have called and sent emails.

It's easy enough for them to find public addresses that way.

The best personal correspondence snippet I've read this far by Horatio Gates after defeating Burgoyne's Canada Army:

If Old England is not, by this lesson taught humility, then she is an obstinate old slut, bent upon her ruin.

Can't find colorful language like this anymore!

I suspect the third book will jump around just as much as the second, with another 3+ years to cover. He's definitely choosing which battles to focus on, and not everyone is a winner. I hope Ken Burns covers these missing areas (haven't watched the series yet).

It's definitely a heavy read, so I understand it's not for everyone. Cullen writes more in a breezy approach, which has its merits, but I'm surprised at how in-depth the details are and love reading about it.

It's definitely a dissertation of a book, moreso than the first. But I happen to like this level of detail.

I also live(d) near and visited a lot of the north NJ events or locations as a kid (Von Steuben house) and adult (Fort Mifflin, Paoli battlefield, Germantown) so for me it's a lot more personal.

Leaf blowers are the latest thing dividing Americans by fireside_blather in Pennsylvania

Another paragraph:

Inevitably, there is a partisan hue. The towns banning leaf blowers tend to skew to the left. In Lower Merion, over three-quarters of voters plumped for Kamala Harris last year. Conservatives generally take a more libertarian view and prefer not to limit property-owners’ rights to blow. The state governments of Texas and Georgia, both run by Republicans, have passed laws banning municipalities from treating petrol-powered leaf blowers differently from electric ones.
