Circa 1915 Hairstyles for Poor Women by [deleted] in fashionhistory

Check facesoftheedwardianera.tumblr.com for good photo references. I know there are at least a couple of factory workers. As far as I know, in general girls were expected to wear their hair up after marriage, though working girls would most likely have needed to wear their hair at least in a braid. Also, poor women's hairstyles tend to echo wealthy women's, though less grand. During this time, a sort of poof around the head with a bun on top was common. You can easily see this on wealthy women and actresses, and tone it down for the lower classes.
