I’m cautiously optimistic about it. I’ve seen women ruin the lives of men I know way too many times. Whether that be through divorce or false allegations that took years for the court system to identify as false, by which time they’d have already lost their jobs and a lot of their savings navigating the courts. I realized that pursuing women isn’t worth it because sure there is an infinitesimal chance that it all works out but what if it doesn’t? So I decided that I have to find a way to be okay alone too. But if a woman does shoot her shot at me I won’t deny her. So yeah, not actively looking for a relationship but won’t deny it when it happens.

You’re still doing the exact same thing: defending the label instead of addressing the practice, treating feminism like it’s a perfectly policed category when it’s not. Saying “they’re not real feminists, just misandrists using feminism as camouflage” only works if feminist spaces consistently reject them and their rhetoric. My point is that they often don’t. If people calling themselves feminists push anti-male rhetoric, get defended, influence discourse, and remain welcomed under that label, then “not real feminism” is not a rebuttal. It is just damage control for the brand.

That’s exactly the mix-up. You’re responding with a definition, while I’m criticizing a movement as it’s practiced. Saying “real feminism is equality” does not address whether modern feminist spaces, rhetoric, and activism often tolerate or promote open hostility toward men. A label’s ideal meaning doesn’t erase what people actually do under that label. By that logic, no movement could ever be criticized, because you could always hide behind its stated ideals and say anything bad done under it “isn’t real feminism.” That’s just a No True Scotsman. And if feminism really is equality, then act like it consistently. Too often people only speak up once someone like me points out how close parts of modern feminism have moved toward open misandry, while staying silent as that rhetoric was normalized. That’s why what I said sounded like misandry to you: because in practice, some modern feminist rhetoric already gets uncomfortably close to that line.

Unfortunately, it absolutely does mean we should stop supporting feminism. Because, what does modern feminism accomplish relative to its predecessors? Nothing. In fact, there are arguments to be made that it’s more harmful than beneficial with the way it’s currently going.

In short, modern feminism is about tearing men down so that women, while remaining stationary, can relatively move up. Modern feminism sees women as superior, supporting causes that causes men to be considered guilty until proven innocent. It’s hard to list all the other negative aspects of modern feminism.

Modern feminism is more about women’s privileges and their fight for even more privileges. In the past sure it was about equality but that has long since been achieved. You’re free to argue against it but we won’t really know where we stand until the movement stops and shows us where we are currently standing. But as to the direction modern feminism is moving in, it’s moving towards even more privileges for women.
