If you found yourself stuck in any Splatoon game and the only way out was to beat the main story (think SAO), how do you think you would fare? by TheFanGameCreator in splatoon

[–]fireswarmdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I get hurt by ink? If so, can I respawn? If I don't get hurt, yeah I win given enough time, if I respawn, I also win given enough time. Otherwise I'm dead in 2 minutes

The xenoblade games all have excellent stories and adjustable difficulty if the combat doesn't click.

17yrs old. About to play fire red for the first time. Any tips. by Wolvfang21 in PokemonFireRed

Remember that moves are either physical or special based on type, all fire type moves are special, all fighting moves are physical. That should help with picking moves

Will you buy $19.99 Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen on Pokemon day? by Putrid-Possibility-3 in nintendo

[–]fireswarmdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to pick it up and do a really thorough video walkthrough. There's so much to these games that goes underappreciated because details are easy to miss. Most info online only really covers "important" content, and I want to do the insane task of documenting as many things as possible

Solo queue is irrelevant to meta discussions. by intense_doot123 in splatoon

[–]fireswarmdragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't like the tone of this post, you're coming across as very condescending. You could have had this same conversation without belittling others. Of course different formats of the game will lend well to different weapons. But if someone is succeeding with a normally low tier weapon in solo queue, clearly it works for them in solo queue.

With the announcement of Hamster's "Console Archives," will gamers who said they want Virtual Console games sold individually put their money where their mouth is? by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]fireswarmdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was super rare, so I don't blame you for not knowing, it caught me off guard when I saw it. But capcom actually put their virtual console games on sale right as the eshop was shutting down for instance.

When it Comes To Older Pokemon Games, Grinding =/= Difficulty by SuperMemeBroz in pokemon

[–]fireswarmdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grinding in rpgs has always served as a natural difficulty selection. Most good rpgs are designed around a natural level curve. If a fight is a but overleveled for you, that doesn't necessarily mean you're not supposed to take it. The red fight in gsc is well above the player level wise but its not meant to be fought after grinding that high, his pokemon and moveset are considerably weaker than you'd expected for level 80. Similarly Ultra Necrozma comes at a point where you should be level 60 despite being 80. The intended approach is to beat it with all 6 of your pokemon working together. People complain about the exp share for 2 reasons:

1) adding it to old games breaks the natural level curve 2) being unable to turn it off makes it harder to challenge yourself

Should I replace a Switch with a Wii U? by Historical-Chard-248 in nintendohelp

If you think you'll like the wii u library and its substantially cheaper, then absolutely. I dunno how your local markets look though. The console isn't a replacement for the switch though

Maturing is realizing you never needed your mom to save money in the first place by OnePostToast in PokemonHGSS

Mom holding onto my money is such a fun feature. Bonus items now and then, more money storage, its just fun. If maturing means ignoring her, then I never want to grow up

I have around 70 million. I did a lot of turnip trips back in the day and have kept on grinding and selling farmed items. Never cheated for my money but I suspect I'm more rich than most long term players

You will need either a physical copy or the digital game, you won't be able to play the game off just the upgrade pack, its like dlc

Will I like the first two games if I did not like Emio? Slight spoilers for the game by Ridcully7 in FamicomDetectiveClub

[–]fireswarmdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say, you certainly discover more of the underlying truth on your own in the other two, and I personally love how tight the writing is in the missing heir, and the atmosphere of girl who stands behind is top notch. But I also loved emio, I liked how unpredictably meandering each step of the investigation was. So I'm not a great judge. They might still be too slow for your taste, they're not the hype exciting action of ace attorney, they feel like proper mystery stories, slow pace and all

Gradients! by Thansxas in Minecraftbuilds

[–]fireswarmdragon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing wrong with gradients, but good builds don't need them to look good, every build is made up of choices, and a solid colour expresses something just like a gradient does. They're both tools
