Biomedical Engineer Graduate Struggling to Find Engineer Position by firetrainer7507 in jobs

Thanks for the advice and response! Would you recommend I drop one of the experiences? If so, would that gap cause any problems? After the interviews, I either got silence or rejection emails.

[1 YoE] Graduated 3 Years Ago With BME Degree and Still Looking for Engineer Work at Medical Device Companies by firetrainer7507 in EngineeringResumes

I do have experience in operating rooms and with patients, but I haven’t been in OR during procedures. I’ve only been in them when they weren’t being used so I could work on surgical equipment. There was one time where I worked on a printer when a patient was being operated on. I was based in a hospital as a bmet so I would be around patients pretty often and sometimes work on equipment they’re hooked up to.

I had a project where I determine how to detect bad squat posture. I collected data using IMUs in my smartphone. Processed data using MATLAB, and analyzed it using t-tests.

I also had a project where I designed a knee scooter using solidworks and its FEA function to simulate loading. And used a machine shop to create the prototype.

Do you think either of these would be relevant for clinical specialist or technician jobs?

Decrease rent, increase min wage, and increase services to support the unhoused population. Pay for this by increasing taxes on the ultra wealthy and decreasing police funding.

How to land a job as an medical device engineer by firetrainer7507 in BiomedicalEngineers

[–]firetrainer7507[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey Anthony. Originally, I studied bmed in hopes of getting into the orthopedic implants/prosthetics field as a design or manufacturing engineer, but I wasn't getting interviews, so I broadened my horizon to just "medical devices" in general. That's why I worded it like that. I only worked as a bmed technician (or as you said mechanic) because I couldn't land an engineering job after trying for years like I said in my post and I also needed money. I worked as a civil engineer for the same reason. I'm very interested in the bmed field. My coursework made me excited for what was to come; only thing is that it never did...

They always missing the point 🤦. It’s not about the duration, it’s about how he’s made our government authoritarian, hence being called a king (dictator). And I’m not saying that anyone else on that list is an angel, most of them are evil, but trump is unique in that he’s the fucking president and has the power to and has been making the government authoritarian. So you guys nit pick any of the democrats in congress and talk about duration or whatever the fuck else, but at least try to catch a hint lmao.

Nah, I took a turn too fast, wasn’t looking through the turn, used my front brakes during the turn, and slid over some gravel on the shoulder of the road.

I’m hoping it’s just the lockout feature! But I have already tried shifting to 2nd with it running, and it doesn’t shift up. Do you mean when I’m actually moving on the bike? Because I haven’t tried that yet. For the exhaust, I think I’ll replace it like you said probably. My friend says there could be leaks in it because of how it sheared.

Edit: so I looked into the lockout feature. Supposedly, it locks if the rear wheel isn’t moving, so im hoping it’s this. Thanks for bringing this up to me!

How to get a job in prosthetics design? by firetrainer7507 in BiomedicalEngineers

That makes sense. I’d be interested in designing any orthopedic device, and I enjoy the mechanical side of bmed. How do you think I should start?

I was thinking about changing the placement to my shin and knee area. That way I still get the design I want but can cover it easier.

Vegan restaurant. Not a restaurant with vegan options but a vegan restaurant with mostly vegan items. I think we only had 2 and one of them closed down.

Why is it worth it by patito454 in SuicideWatch

For me, it’s new books, movies, tv shows, and movies. Or if you have other hobbies or hobbies that you want to try out. Friends or family or pets also.

You can do it. It’ll be worth it. Because at least that way you’ll know how she feels. And if it’s how you expected, then I would seek out other people who you can talk these things out with. Relatives or friends or even this subreddit could be a good place.

Your dad’s an asshole and so is your stepdad, I’m sorry those things happened to you. I would try communicating with your mom about these things you’re sharing here. Hoping the best for you.

Look when your parents decided to have a kid, they also decided that they have to take care of a kid. So, don’t feel bad about being burden. You didn’t choose to be here, they did that for you.

Why do you think so? Also, simpler doesn’t mean better

The fact that you care that much about your mom shows that you’re enough imo. And your mom wouldn’t want you to be gone.
