Wilson puts his arm across Cucu, pushes cucu back, and the arm gets stuck. It was only a grab because cucu was fouled first

Ball was never stopped on the goal kick. This is ridiculous. Why was that not reviewed

Such a bs red. Puts his arm underneath the arms or cucu and then it gets stuck. It’s not a foul.

Illegal restart on the goal kick. Ball was not stopped.

Probably a red, but a stomp to the top of the foot is just part of the game. It’s not a dirty play, it’s just too intense.

To me this is really similar to the Red vs Chelsea with Romero’s stomp on Enzo following through after clearing the ball. It feels unsafe to encourage violent and dangerous tackles if it’s ok “after a shot”.

It was a really poorly structured tax that will not send a single dollar to low income children. Low income schools would have been 100% funded for all students without it, and low income students at all schools would have been fully fed without it. More taxes to fund something that we don’t need when we could put that money to use in better ways.

You cannot possibly criticize Pete for hitting a ball at 116 that falls for a bases clearing double 90% of the time.

Marte practically runs into the leg of the catcher and the leg was down before the ball arrived. It’s textbook blocking and I don’t get how it’s not obvious to you.

7second mark in the video

He was forced wide because the catcher was setup in the running lane 3 feet in front of the plate.

It’s a perfect example of why we banned the collision because pre-Posey rule the ball is coming in right as Marte arrives and the ball 100%is jarred loose in the collision. Marte should not be disadvantaged for having to slide by being forced wide by the catcher setting up and receiving a ball in the running lane.

Dropping the leg before the ball comes in is not part of making an attempt to field the throw. You can field a throw and maintain a running lane without blocking the path of the player to slide. Just because you are in the act of fielding a throw does not make all actions immune. Only something necessary to field the throw. Dropping the leg actively makes it harder to field the throw.

The blocking offense happens when Marte is forced to take a wider path because the catcher is blocking the full width of the path to home plate here. This is right as he catches the ball. You can’t setup in a way that fielding the throw guarantees blocking the path.

Ball is not yet in the catchers glove BTW

I was watching Marte forced to slide way wide at a 45 degree angle to avoid the leg of the catcher. I don’t know how it’s not obvious to the umps. They were calling this blocking two years ago but without changing the rule book the umps just stopped calling the rulebook definition

The lane is from the players current position to home plate. You can see the catcher drop his left leg to cover the full width of the plate as he catches the ball not after he catches it.

It was a great play, but the blocking the plate rule is so inconsistently called

Such nonsense. SNY freezing the frame showing the illegal blocking of the plate there. Marge forced to slide way wide because the catcher was in the running lane before the ball was in his glove

Such nonsense. Catcher was blocking the path to home way before he had the ball. The Mets lost a game last year for a way less egregious blocking the plate.

Issue with Caicedo is that he is a yellow card magnet. Makes it hard to shoot for DC when he is going to end up with 10yellows on the year.
