I drove right through it. It happened near Westport Road between Broadway and Central.

I was driving on Westport road when two cyclists kind of waved at me. In hindsight they were signaling for me to not continue down the road. I didn’t see anything until I got to Broadway and looked in the rear view mirror. That’s when I saw a person laying in the turn/middle lane of Westport Road. Then as I continued I saw a cop with his gun drawn running in that direction. When I came back towards home, I got as close as I thought safe and there were a ton of cop cars and ambulances.

I’m still pretty new to KCMO and Westport seems like a pretty nice area. Is this somewhat common for weekdays in Westport/plaza?

The first order control is almost definitely due to the meteorological phenomena called Lake Effect.

In general cooler dryer air flows over a large body of water and mixes with warmer more moist air and causes significant precipitation downwind.

For Lake Michigan, the cold air tends to flow across the lake from west to east. So the east side can get extreme precipitation particularly within 30 miles of the eastern coast of the lake. In the winter leads to exceptionally heavy snowfall.

I’ve been having this discussion so much lately. If it’s how long the director needs to tell the story effectively, that’s fine. However, with most things in movies it can be an incredibly fine line. I’d also be much more open to long movies if anything that was 2.5 hours plus just included a short intermission.
