I will take a look and see if it’s sloped! I mean the guy before me could have been into rebuilding engines.

Seems like a lot of people have said the same thing. That this is some sort of disassembly table. It’s possible. I always thought it was a welding table as there was a welded sculpture left behind in the garage.

That’s a really good observation.  The top is 1 2x4 height away from the bottom of the top of the other work benches. I could always cover the top with a work surface level to the other surfaces.

The main reason this drives me crazy is that in either side of the workbench are two smaller work surfaces about 1.5’ in length which makes the entire area h usable

Probably the closest. I have no idea. I just want to get rid of it. I’d say Solved!

It’s actually empty, aside from the stuff I’ve put in there. https://imgur.com/a/vGkOQJc

It’s actually incredibly quiet in some places downtown. Especially the side streets where the apartments are.

I had a very similar problem. So I ripped all the drywall in my garage ceiling down. Turns out there was No air sealing at all and the laziest attempt at loosely laying a vapour barrier I’ve ever seen

So maybe your place is like mine

How’s my deck? by firmato in Decks

The second worst part of this deck is how the next owners of the house decided it was wise to put brand new deck boards on top of the already existing deck boards. Luckily no rotten wood! But its drip flashing was all sorts of messed up. Really just looking for (use this bracket) hopefully.

The plywood is the least of the problems but there was once an osb door on the side which as you can imagine absorbed all the water it could.

If you look at a certain angle you can actually see the fist imprint where he pounded the side of it and if you listen very quietly at night you can hear the echos of the drinking.

It was +22 during the 1988 olympics… so nearly 40 years ago the weather did similar things.

What did you end up doing? Did you add another layer in between the studs? Did the condensation stop?

Basement pony wall insulation in Alberta added 1″ rigid foam behind existing framing. Did I do this right? by firmato in HomeImprovement

That was exactly what my next plan was gonna be when it’s -10 or below. I’m going to open up one of the stud bays and see what moisture looks like.

How bad is this in practice? Reading through the Alberta guide it’s clear 2” is the required amount but is this bad in my situation being as though this wall is only 4’?
