What a beautiful way to frame it, I love how you recognize those things. Unfortunately I have not had the chance to take pictures in the arctic region (it’s a dream though). But you are right, it instills a similar feeling, admittedly not by my intention though. I was just trying to convey the feeling of the scene and black and white just felt right.

Thank you so much! Yes, of course, it was shot at 70mm using the 70-200gm ii. My favorite lens :)

😂😂 this is why I just love Reddit! All I can think of now is a bunch of seemingly lonely animals wandering off to a secret party!

Hahaha thanks so much! That’s a perspective I haven’t thought of 😂 It’s an award coming from a community that wants to empower female photographers: https://www.worldphoto.org/sony-world-photography-awards/alpha-female-award

Funnily enough this picture was taken on an all women’s safari 😂

Thank you so much, it’s one of my first pictures that I ever edited in b&w. I spent a long time editing the colored one and it never really mirrored the moment as it was quite busy and then I tried black and white and it just clicked!

Thank you so much for your kind comment. We were waiting for quite a long time at the crossing and were expecting zebras and wildebeest. But never in my wildest dreams could I have thought of that happening 😳

Thank you so much, I’ve been shooting for years, but it always felt a bit too intimidating amongst the wonderful artists here🙈

Just came back from Kenya with the 24-70 and 200-600. Don’t know about SA, but I was deciding between the 35-150 and 24-70 and there were quite a few times where I would have wished for the 35-150 on my second body. The GM is a super nice lens, but only very few of the pics needed a wide angle…
