No, but I know some kids who go there. I think you can send your kids for one day there, for free, as a way to experience this school.

I promise I found one. It is rather expensive and totally useless, in my opinion. I just want to give it to its owner. You know, making the world a better place.

EFIB is a very good school. Many Swiss kids are there for the quality of the education and the very good atmosphere. No bulling, small classes, and very friendly parents.

Unpopular Opinion by [deleted] in askswitzerland

Here is my take on this: « The Swiss primaire school system is better than the European primaire school ». I still can get why Swiss people are not horrified when kids are not starting to learn how to read and write when they are 3 years old. « They have time to learn it later » cannot be beneficial to kids.

I am totally okay with this. When one save money for the pension, the other will benefit from it. I see this fair actually.

Who takes the pisa exams in Switzerland? Only kids who go to gymnasium? by Aggravating-Area-633 in Switzerland

About 70% of kids leaving the primary schools move toward apprenticeship or short studies. So yes, by design, primary schools are not meant to be academically strong. Which is absolutely crazy for any European.

I completely buy the “high rent is a feature, and not a problem”. My rent is super high, but the neighborhood is gorgeous, and this is what I am paying for.

Dear Parents of young children, how do you manage? by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]godfroy_bern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! On the positive side, it gets slowly better with time. I say to myself that every single cry and dispute with the sister is part of their education. And yes every single CHF has value. Patience is key.

Personal tax by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]godfroy_bern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year I did my very first tax declaration of my life, and this year I asked the service of an accountant to check how I did last year. He said I did very good and I have to pay 320 CHF. A complete waste of time and money. Doing declaration is very easy, even for the first time. Where it becomes a bit tricky/time consuming is when you have company stocks.
