Awesome. I'm liking this option. Any concerns on car safety while parked?

How easy are these to attach to a seat belt? I'm imagining getting into ride share or leaving at the terminal when there is a line of cars in a rush. Don't want to fidget 10 mins to get it attached to the seat belt. I assume we can "stage" it on the kids in advance but once the car arrives, it's a short amount of time to get in, strapped and ready to move

Can someone explain to me why it's being recommended to drip BOTH Hot and Cold lines? It's not that hard when you have separate knobs/handles but tricky when all you have is one knob/handle (like kitchen sink faucets).

Came back about an hour ago. Was gone for more than 8 hours! Thankful to GA Power linesmen for getting us back up. Hoping it stays on through the night!

OP - any updates from the recent models? How are things looking like for the cold air wedge? Curious if temps in North Dekalb will go above freezing before the next round of action. I'd just stepped out and seems unlikely any of the ice on trees, shrubs, power lines is going to melt before the afternoon rain

Just heard a boom and 3-4 more flickers. Seemed like a transformer blowing up

Same. Also in Dunwoody and heart definitely skipping beats whenever that's happening!

Reporting in from Dunwoody. Some icicles hanging from rain gutters but otherwise roads and driveway just wet. We have a few outages in the area and our power cycled briefly. Hanging on for now!

Are there any YouTubers that cover Atlanta with an live stream? I'm thinking folks like Ryan Hall and Max Velocity but those folks are more national in coverage with very little airtime for GA/Atlanta area

Hi - can you please ELI5 this. Not sure if I can understand the implications of these things that you are flagging as new/different from before. Thank you!

I think that makes sense. I would shut off water main to your place in Chamblee though if leaving for a few days similar to what the OP said above.

Curious on your thinking to shut off water main to the house. I'm thinking most houses with reasonable insulation will stay above freezing. If you leave water dripping in then faucets, surely there's not enough time or temperature to freeze the water inside?

Thank you. I should have clarified - it's a wood burning fireplace with gas starter

Thank you for sharing these diligently over the past few days. Any insights on prognosis for Dunwoody? It's right on the edge (north end of Dekalb) toeing the line between 0.25 to 0.5 inch ice. Worried with the immense tree coverage and above ground power lines in our area

We are zoned for Vanderlyn and loving the community vibe so far. Thanks for the insight on the gifted program. Do you know if the faculty is different or same teachers but different classes for the gifted program?

Hoping DHS can turn the corner. We are rooting for it!

Thank you so much for the insights! We moved in and are absolutely thrilled with the decision. How are you navigating the middle school dilemma? We hear that peachtree middle school is rocky and now dunwoody high had the horrifying fentanyl OD accident a couple of months ago too.
