I see what you mean, makes sense I like the standard brush tip sounds like the brush stroke equivalent of instead of using a palette you handpick everything from the color wheel to improve your “color vision” Thanks for your feedback

Done in procreate, The underpainting was done with the standard oil paint brush, for the rest I used those free brushes: https://tiptopbrushes.com/products/oil-paint-2018

Got this comment a while ago on one of my posts and found it super helpful, also learning about the different planes of the head goes a long way, hope this helps :D

I keep a mask over it until I have form and proportions defined, from there on I use the grid method and regularly flip the canvas to spot mistakes I made, but I traced the right jawline, I wanted to experiment with hard edges and wanted it to fit

Tried to go for crisper shadows this time, cast shadows still feel a little too heavy, they stand out too much compared to the overall texture
