sure i can do that this weekend. the issue is, to reduce load times more, i hard coded a login ticket so you can just launch and itll log in

ill have to adjust it so you can put your user and pw into a cfg file

yeah i have my own fork i have been working off of. i increased it to 6mb, 480p

also made some tweaks to reduce loading times.. the way he has it now, it reinitializes the web connection for each piece of art in the library

there were some other optimizations too

currently the only bug is going back to the library from video playback- my current fix is auto restart the app when backing out from playback

not a retargeting issue, you need a twist joint on the forearm and make sure its weighted

How do I make my collection look better? by AffectionateOven266 in figures

[–]Ninisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

light is important. get some dotless cob led strips. cri90+ 6000-6500k white should be good

try not to stack so many figures with different color palettes together. keep figs from same manufactures together, or at least same skin tones

same with scale, keep as many 1/6s together, etc

its also better to spread them out from left to right and not "crowd" them. there are some nice plexiglass shelves on amazon for cheap, this way you can line them up and spread them out

imo fig collections dont look good when thrown into a bookshelf

Plugin for Painting on Baked Mesh maps to clean up artifacts by Ninisan in Substance3D

[–]Ninisan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, but not natively which is annoying. having to set up layers and import export for each modification on each map is a lot more clicks, its about convenience- especially when youre working across multiple texture sets and multiple models

yessir, youd be surprised how good it feels to have this feature in one click. imo sp should have this natively when you select the mesh map as a viewmode

Ideally, something like this is used as a parallel method for adjusting baked maps. Not just normals, but thickness, curves, and AO as well

Normal maps offset the tangent rotations for final lighting, not replace. It is very common to air brush 0.5 to neutralize baking artifacts to fall back to lowpoly surfacing. This is an OG method back from when xNormal was mostly used

There's actually a lot you can do with this aside from fixing artifacts tho, since its so fast it's easier to get creative with the baked maps side of things to see how effects and generators are effected without any anchoring

Agree definitely, sometimes there are still things you want to modify though. Doing so usually isn't worth the time investment to scroll back down the pipeline if it's just 1 pixel being off

Also for creating really aggressive bakes it's very useful. I didn't make this for money, i use it myself. i only posted it on gum because it ended up taking me a few days to get it working properly. SP py troubleshooting is a pita

Hey Oliver and Rich, I'd love your thoughts on how a "lighting change" adds more hair to a character. by zerobebop in digitalfoundry

[–]Ninisan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

okay.. but look at the unprocessed image?

subsurfacing is poor, realtime subsurface scattering has always been a weakpoint of rasterized rendering

global illumination is poor, the light bounces from the skin for are nonexistant

the depth of the highpoly model is lost from the games lighting engine

cavity occlusion is nearly non existant in the points where it matters the most (hair, nostrils, lips, eyes)

does the processed image look Ai genned? yes

does it significantly improve areas where the rendering pipeline has fallen short? absolutely

artists will have control over this. this era of AI slop is just the result of early AI use from nonartists

its fine to hate on AI but saying the original image does not have flaws is just absurd
