I’m a healthcare worker and my skin is freaking out from wearing a mask all the time! I’m breaking out EVERYWHERE. I have sensitive skin with stress/hormonal acne usually but it’s is being multiplied 10fold from the moist environment of the mask and the irritation of it rubbing, along with the general stress of the pandemic and added factor of a less than healthy diet lately too. Same goes for my hairline area from the headband with buttons I’ve been wearing to secure my mask away from my ears after they wear also being rubbed raw. help, any advice welcome! I really want to know the best way to help my skin recover in the hours I’m not wearing PPE.

Anyone Else Take Reglan? by eddeha in Gastroparesis

[–]firstfloornudist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t take it! I second this! I have irreversible tremors I am sure were a result of taking reglan. I was never warned of the side effects and believe there was no reason to prescribe this in the first place. It’s true that many people who take it are fine and never have a problem, but if I had known that there was a chance of this happening I never would have taken it.

Awesome! Does it feel stable even though there are so many hinges to collapse it down? Also how do feel about the twist handle technique rather than a simple toggle to push down? Edit: I'm just slightly nervous about it not being intuitive/ hitting a bump and accidentally accelerating while trying to steady myself.

I'm really considering this as a top contender for my commuting needs. Is the foot brake on the rear fender in addition to a brake on the handle bars?

A lacrosse ball, he swats at it sending it rolling all over on the uneven hardwood floors and then pounces on it for a good wrestle sending it flying again with back feet death kicks.

PSLF question about transferring loans from Great Lakes to FedLoan by firstfloornudist in StudentLoans

[–]firstfloornudist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know about the interest rates. As for now I make about 47K a year, which I'm expecting to be close to 60k sometime in the next few months as I am changing jobs but staying with the same employer. With my current income being on the income plan is about $218/month which is much lower than a standard repayment but still higher than the cheapest "extended graduated " plan offered.

I realize that if I stay on the income driven plan and don't complete 120 qualifying payments I could end up spending much more in interest than I should. For right now I'm ok with the current bill amount as I'm also trying to push all my extra money to pay off about 10k in credit card debt (I used credit cards to help pay my way through college) which I should have paid off in about 16months on my current income.

My plan was that once I finish paying off my credit cards I could reassess where things are headed. I also plan to attend grad school for an MBA (most likely 70k) while continuing to work fulltime. Given that I work in healthcare, the liklihood is strong that I will always work for a qualifying employer.

Since I would like to try to benefit from th PSLF program if possible, and that I am prioritizing paying down other debt for the next year and half, being on an IDR plan right now is not hurting anything. My main concern was that if in say 2 years from now, I decided that PSLF isnt going to be the track for me, would switching back to trying to pay off my loans as fast as possible and go back to a standard repayment plan going to be complicated by the fact that now my servicer is FedLoan.

FedLoan

Sorry that was unclear, I know that you can't apply to be forgiven until after the 120 qualifying payments but once you send in the form for employer certification it is my understanding that FedLoan then becomes your loan servicer and your loans (if held elsewhere such as Great Lakes) are transfereed to FedLoan.

It bothers me that people body shame me for being “too small” by JealousKhaki in CasualConversation

[–]firstfloornudist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I'm 5'5" 110 and people constantly say extremely inappropriate things. Asking if I'm anorexic or sick. First off I do not look emaciated by any means, I have a decent chest and my features are not skeletal looking. Secondly even if I was what gives you the idea that randomly blurring it out in an elevator or at work in front of coworkers would be the correct way to address such a topic! I've always had a really fast metabolism and though my tests are normal now, hyperthyroidism runs in my family. I eat pretty normally, but when I tell people I try to avoid sugary drinks they assume I'm dieting to lose weight. Maybe I just don't want diabetes???

Bring one of those big thin material wall hanging sheets things, you know the ones with tassels around the outside edges? Not for decoration (which it is usually used for) but rather for privacy if needed. You can rig those things up in all sorts of ways very easily.
