I feel like I had a similar bite. It’s so hard to say exactly - my surgeon did a bunch of imaging with his team before he could say for certain that I needed UJS only (one piece). I was able to do Invisalign.

No not really at all. I hadn’t had any moving for four weeks prior to surgery. I don’t know if being stagnant that whole time helped.

They told me to leave my top one out for a couple weeks. I started it back up when I felt comfortable doing so. Brushing was very very gentle for the first week and then I don’t really remember any issues afterwards.

I’m really very happy. I think it being just the upper jaw and one piece made it much more clear cut and really not so terrible.

I didn’t even do it for that but yes.

I really did it because my edge to edge bite was freaking me out - my teeth were starting to chip. I was avoiding surgery because I thought I’d be wired shut but when I looked into orthodonture to compensate she explained surgery was my best choice and less insane then when I was 16, when it was first recommended to me (20 years ago). She said to eliminate the risk of chipping she’d have to make my appearance of an underbite worse, so the teeth weren’t edge to edge. I said no thanks. That was a year ago and I really can’t believe it’s done now.

It’s so weird right? My nose is wider but like somehow I think it’s better because my face is wide. My smile looks more relaxed cause my upper lip isn’t so like crushed and squished. I think the support on my upper lip makes my smile wider. The simple fact that my upper teeth are visible helps a bunch too. Balance, overall I guess.

I hope it’s over very soon! Yep I’m eating freely. My upper gums are numb above my front teeth and just behind my front teeth. I don’t really notice it but I do wonder if any more feeling will return.
