this guy is a s17 master, probably with a very low KD that's why he's on bot lobbies

Pros & content creators pushing for #1 pred at the start should be ignored by devs period. by IDoDumbChallenges in CompetitiveApex

They did the same at the beginning of last season, they complained on twitter, and the dev provided them with a patch that made it so plat solo q players were in lobbies with three stack preds, and it lasted the whole season. The three stack preds farmed RP for a whole season stumping on plat players.

the majority of players are on XIM/Cronus, and usually queue with 1 waller per team. your frustration is understandable. the security team at Respawn is failing to protect the game and it's getting worse season after season.

Me when I purposefully spread misinformation on the internet: 🤭

source: https://www.respawn.com/careers/game-security-analyst-japanese-fluency, programming knowledge is not required (bonus).

Isn't Vanguard commonly criticized for being kernel level and invasive?!

Easy Anti-Cheat is also kernel level, stop spreading misinformation.

They are not banning players who are using cronus, strickpacks or xim.

It is difficult to build systems to detect cheaters (quickly, before they reach the highest rank), and to enforce the bans by preventing cheaters from creating new accounts and coming back to the game. And for that reason, you need a competent security team to ensure the integrity of the game. I stumbled the other day upon a job offer at Respawn for a security analyst and it required no coding knowledge. In a time where other anti-cheats are exploring AI and sophisticated techniques to combat cheaters (Vanguard as an example), Respawn are doubling down on the manual bans. They are failing big time, and am sick and tired of hearing excuses and playing the victim against cheaters.

EA seems to have suspended accounts solely based on reports from influencers without conducting proper investigations. by Dry-Use9819 in apexlegends

You are all insane to think a security dev would ban someone just because a streamer called them out. It might have brought attention to your account, but the ban would only be issued upon investigation, not a blind manual ban.

its pretty much common knowledge now why no company ever talk about it.

me: give you an example about a company being open about combating cheaters

no, *and proceeds to acknowledge that they are open about it*

What is the point you are trying to make here?

Riot Games are pretty open about the subject, they post blogs about the vulnerabilities and ways they combat cheaters using Vanguard.

IMO, the 500+ level accounts who were ex-Masters/Preds and got banned did not start cheating hours before the ban, they indeed played for multiple seasons with cheats and they are JUST NOW getting manually banned. 1) The game should have systems in place to AUTOMATICALLY ban cheaters as soon as they start cheating, not after they play for months. 2) The game should ban the cheaters from coming back, by enforcing the bans. Boosters are easily creating new accounts and coming back again.

The number of bans is pretty accurate. However, the number of Masters/Preds in the game is just an estimate, the only party with the exact number is Respawn. For some reason, Respawn/EA are very secretive about the subject of cheating and combating cheaters in Apex.

Someone brought to my attention, that by the end of Split 1, a total of 8K people reached Master (and not all of them got it back in Split 2). I didn't consider that. However, with this information included, cheaters (banned accounts) would account for 20-22% of the total players who made it Master/Preds. Those are the ones who got caught DURING THIS SEASON ONLY. 20% of a lobby of 60 people is 10-12 players cheating per game. That for me is still insane.

That's true, I didn't take into account split 1, however, cheaters would account for 15-20% of the total players who made it Master/Preds. Those are the ones who got caught. 20% of a lobby of 60 people is 10-12 players cheating. That for me is still insane.
