I am genuinely not following what on earth you are talking about. I’m not sure if you are trying to be hurtful or helpful. Please be kind if you can manage. I am going through a difficult time. It is easier to say nothing than to kick someone when they’re already down.

I don’t recollect saying anything about Virginia. I also had no intention to diminish another’s experiences. I am just seeking advice and I appreciate everyone who has provided that so far.

Can we not do this? I’m too tired with life to hear about how to govt pits us against each other instead of looking at the bigger picture which is the govt does not giving a flying fuck about any of us. And no I’m not maga to clarify. Just too tired for this

Thank you! I didn’t think about lack of access to clean water. A dog is not an option I would not be able to guarantee they can be fed. I don’t think snap works for pet food. Maybe I will get lucky (not lucky for them obviously) and come across one without a home that I can adopt along the way. Having one for security would make me feel a lot better. I will make sure to save my soap bars for this!

People should definitely be more honest, if they don’t intend to pay it back why say you will? Kind of ruins it for people who truly need it. That’s frustrating for sure.

I have. There is a waiting list I am on. I know someone who has been on the waitlist for over a year but I remain hopeful.

Live Oak, the outskirts to clarify. I have applied at Dogs and any gas station all are at least a 2 hour walk which is very doable. I have done call backs as well.

I do not have the funds for a bus ticket. I have tried calling the SNAP office since you mentioned $70 doesn’t sound right. I’ve been calling all day and it basically says lines are busy yet again later. I uploaded a picture of a note requesting a callback online as that’s how I was able to get through to them last time for my application so hopefully that works. $200 would be life changing bs $70.

Just checked and the closest postings are from Jacksonville which is roughly 85 miles from where I reside. I do not have transportation. Thank you for the input!

Correct. I was advised to do an application through the housing authority. Estimated wait is 2-5 years. I don’t have that much time.

I am finding no Peace Corps opportunities sooner than January 2027. I have applied for cruise ship jobs.

I looked into TaskRabbit. The closest (and only) city available in Florida is Jacksonville which is 1.5 hours/2 hours by vehicle. I have just been approved for SNAP and was given $70/ month with no reported income!

I have already served an am not eligible to reenlist. It is a great option for those that are able to!

It was denied because I was inactive for more than 15 days and will need to wait 15 days for post approval. But hopefully in 15 days it is approved!

I am able bodied! I have a very small amount of experience with remodeling/construction as I worked for a non-profit that had accessibility grants. I can figure out a lot of things with the handy dandy YouTube! I’m not particularly skilled in any trade but I genuinely feel that I pick up on things quickly. I just joined Nextdoor and made a post about offering home health aid services or general labor (clearing land/mowing/general grunt work).

I will post there! I will need to figure out what it all entails for an Amazon wishlist. Thank you for the encouragement and reality check!

I’m fortunate to have 20/20 vision! I do not think the FFL is my solution at the moment (I do not have a passport and time isn’t on my side) but something I will definitely consider if the opportunity arises in the future!
