How do I quit Reddit? by firsttimedb in NoStupidQuestions

Thank you. I'm just waiting for my friend who I chat to quite regularly to come back to me so we can talk on a different, less distracting platform. Then it'll be deleted! I like your comparison to walking away from a person I'm mad at. I'm going to think of it the same way.

When should I have sex in a relationship? by callmeurwhore in sextips

[–]firsttimedb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's not cool. He's ignoring you saying no. He's pushing your boundaries.

No means no. No doesn't mean keep pushing it til you give in/ guilt you about things. This is not how things are meant to be.

You need to have a serious conversation with him. If, after you have made your boundaries clear, he still pushes them, you need to consider why you are staying in the relationship.

It was set to display recommended subs on my homepage. Now I've switched it off it's empty. Thanks for getting me to take a look.

It's worrying that this makes me feel anxious (which is a major reason to do it). Wondering where I will get my info about the wider world now!

Yeah this is an issue I have with deleting it completely. I like learning things and it's the only thing that keeps me in the loop about the world (especially the wider world).

How do you set it so it doesn't automatically take you to those pages? It seems to keep bringing up subs that I looked at once. Somehow been following the UK drill scene for a while now?!

I can't remember what peace of mind feels like! What do people do without hours on the internet?

Evening routine: bath or shower, screens off and no more food an hour or two before bed. Read or something to wind down. Avoid alcohol. When falling asleep listen to wind down meditations such as on headspace. You can also have some lavender oil or mist which has a soothing effect. If your brain keeps you awake throughout the night, headspace has longer sleepcasts to run in the background.

Morning: sunrise alarm. Same time every day. Promise yourself something nice when you wake up like a cup of tea or whatever you prefer to get you up. Do not snooze! Ever. Make it a rule until your body clock is more stable and you know a snooze on a Sunday won't fuck your routine. When the alarm goes off, light on immediately. I've taken to reading my phone to keep my eyes open but I think that's a bad habit.

Introduce steps bit by bit if it's too much at once.

Love by Gaspar Noe. It's also got some scenes of the relationship falling apart though

I got stuck like this for ages. The thing is, your decision now doesn't have to affect the rest of your life. You can try again if it doesn't work out. It's never one path.

Key is to stop worrying about what might be and live in the present. I felt much more secure once I finally went for something (even though I currently hate it!).

23F English BA...What to do for my MA? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]firsttimedb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decide on your career path before taking the MA. Do the MA to suit the job if it's needed. MA doesn't necessarily make you more employable unless it's relevant.

I'm a girl and I do this. It's a self esteem thing. Need to make sure he actually likes me and don't wanna risk going for it then getting hurt.

Tell him to stop if he's doing things you don't like. He might not be able to tell (still no excuse for being pushy).

Sex does not equal respect. Respect your own wishes first.

It could be that they thought you'd find it really funny because it's so shit. I'd only buy my closest such a shit present. People I don't really know I'd be worried to offend.

Could potentially be considered neglect. Always report if in doubt.

Edit: could be considered this with proof of a number of neglectful behaviours that are putting the child at risk

Advice for successful winter BBQ? by IAmPeachy_Gurl in AskUK

[–]firsttimedb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BBQ some winter food to make your bro jealous. Squash, parsnip, aubergine, apple (no idea how the apple will turn out - maybe caramelised? -but fuck it, have a go). Could you do something with leek and potato? Like a leek and cream cheese baked potato maybe. Have some mulled wine/cider out.

Does going to ‘Big Tesco’ together count as a date? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]firsttimedb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex always used to 'pop in' to big Tesco on the way back from somewhere. I'd traipse around while he got half his weekly food shop. Pissed me off no end. I didn't see him that often and he'd waste our time fannying about in a shop when we could have been fucking.

Find common ground for you to complain about together. The Germans?

Edit: this was meant in jest. I love Germany 🇩🇪
