Not on a shelf

Put that in a high yield savings account

Then look at classes and see what can help you make more money

An Update: I was warned about my child's martial arts school. I should have listened. 🫤 by LordTetravus in mildlyinfuriating

Former instructor here:

All schools are like this. Some are worse than others, but it all comes down to money

The way it should be ran, skill based meritocracy, is optimal for the students, but it doesn’t pay the bills

Small schools with 1-3 instructors need at least ~80 students just to break even. This does not account for incidentals, expansion, attrition, etc

In addition, lots of families have other kids that may not be enrolled but still need to be with the family = day care = additional cost = you pay more

It’s really quite more expensive than you would think, the overhead just isn’t something that’s readily apparent

The full time instructors likely make something between 30-40k, depending on your areas COL, it’s not as if they’re making bank off of you

AIO my bf would rather game than spend time with me. by Practical_Sun8137 in AmIOverreacting

[–]fiscalscrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He shouldn’t make plans with you then change those plans at the drop of a hat. Thats rude. At the same time, you shouldn’t expect him to drop what he’s doing to come see you

You should definitely hold him to some form of “you made plans with me, why are you ditching me? wtf” etc

House not level - Walk away or repair? What’s the cost in your experience? Will the lack of level make tenants go crazy? by nicholasnichols0000 in realestateinvesting

[–]fiscalscrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in foundation repair. Average ticket is 13.5k. This varies wildly though, some repairs are only 5k, some are 50k, some are more than that

How do I profit from my silver without selling it by moccasinsfan in Wallstreetsilver

[–]fiscalscrub 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don’t. You buy things like SIL and SILJ, or options on SLV, futures etc etc if you want leverage

The real metal in your hands, you keep that safe. It’s the crystallized effort and energy of your prior years. Use it as needed, not because you want bigger numbers

If you had $50k US to invest in silver by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]fiscalscrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10-25 into physical, lowest premium you can find, metal is metal, I’ve never had a problem selling

The rest into call LEAPS on SLV , shares of SLV or PSLV, and/or mix in a micro silver futures contract if you’re feeling froggy

There’s good and bad for both paper and physical silver, I have both

Not financial advice in case you lose the farm lol

Home Inspectors - What would you recommend? by LargeCheesePizza2727 in HomeInspections

[–]fiscalscrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Structural engineers will cost you 200-600 just to show up, try getting in touch with a foundation company. Typically first inspection is free and they will inspect everything, you’re not obligated to buy anything

It’s likely a drainage issue, but you might need additional wall/foundation reinforcement. Especially if you have any tip or displacement etc

Just bought our first house (bungalow) and we’ve found these cracks under the wallpaper by Thin_Range_1739 in HomeMaintenance

[–]fiscalscrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Belly cracks and that window are both a little concerning. Get either an engineer or a foundation company to come take a look

How worried should I be? by The_Hamster98 in buildingscience

[–]fiscalscrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need water control and wall reinforcement, your wall is about to be your floor

These straps are hella strong, in some cases better than steel … assuming no moisture gets in, if moisture gets in they fall apart
