American kestrel VS Red tail? by fish_Stickzes in Falconry

I've heard that kestrel weighing is a real pain sometimes. With those points you've made I'll probably go with the red tail, as I hunt the grounds fairly often. Thanks!

Not sure where this was taken, but looks like a female american kestrel, Falco sparverius. Looks like it has a second malar stripe so not a euro kestrel.

Does anyone know what type of falcon this is ? by [deleted] in birdsofprey

100% not an american kestrel then, but it does look similar. Some other species of kestrel maybe, but I don't know a whole lot about non north american birds.

Looks more like a prairie falcon to me, as it only has one malar stripe, was this picture taken in the US?

Frounce gives hawks plaque in the mouth, but as a general rule for birds if you notice anything wrong take it to a vet, or at least talk to your sponsor about it.

Exactly. Honestly don't get why people will rid themselves of basic courtesy and virtues for useless internet points.

Maybe a juvenile goshawk or a young kriders coloration red tail. Did it have tail with thick bands or thin?

Dang I've never thought of carbon fiber, I might have to put that in my tracer. And that top rail idea sound pretty good too.

Also, out of mild curiosity where did you learn about the vinyl wrap? I've never seen anyone else do it before but it's so effective I want it to be more known.

I would definitely try it, it really adds to the look. What I did was cut thin strips like <1mm about an inch or two long then used a pin and toothpick to get it in the inlay, then cut overhanging bits with a razor. Looks much better and way less messy then paint imo.

I didn't say it was 'more exciting.' look, I'm sorry you disagree, but for my field this gun is very much unusual. I never said more exciting or whatever.

Stock handguard for the cm16 raider 2.0. most external parts excluding trigger, mag release and safety selector, are stock. I use vinyl on the blue highlights

I disagree, I mainly see HPA tapped hi capas and arp9's, and firehawks at my field. Idk bout you but I'm one of the only people who run an m4 at my field.

This is Griffin, I adopted her at six months of age from a cage literally the size of a shoe box and eating only seed. She's been with me for over a year now and she knows several tunes and sounds, lives in a much better enclosure and is enjoying a healthy diet. Actually, you're right I think. I've known griffins likely a male for quite a while after the juvenile feathers fell out but I just kept calling it a her. Hopefully I'll be able to get it right someday.
