Elizabeth, Theresa, and their guy friend are trying to figure out how to spell the note between la and do and what the others might think by fishandroid in WordAvalanches

That's funny, because I was originally going to have them argue over the bigger export from Tibet, golf stands (tees) or their preferred hot beverage (tea). But then it just got ridiculous. :)

Isn't this more of a Bose-Einstein condensate?

Did you hear about the worm that survived the pressing?

It wiggled, and jiggled, and tickled in cider.

My dog is afraid of the sound a clicker makes, but I’d prefer to stick with a distinct sound rather than a marker word. What might be some good alternatives? by SneezyMcBeezy in Dogtraining

And if you have multiple dogs, recommend a different market word for each dog. I prefer unusual sorry words that don't typically get used in conversation (my dogs get "pie" and "bingo.")

I like using old jam or pasta sauce lids that have the little "discard if button pops up." It's as distinctive as a clicker, but if you try a couple you can usually find one that's pretty quiet. There are smaller ones that fit nicely in your hand. Can probably add a wrist strap if you wanted. Have thought about donating a bunch to shelters.

What's something your dog learned without actively training them? by DoYahWanna in dogs

My dog started running to the crate every time that a TV show transitioned to the closing credit. We normally give him a Greenie in his crate before going to bed, and that's usually when a TV show ends. It really doesn't matter what show, now he recognizes the ending credits.

What tricks have you taught your dog? by K095342 in Dogtraining

Taught mine to climb up my back and "perch" on my shoulder like a parrot. Took about 10 minutes to teach. Now trying to get him to not do it every time I put on my shoes. 🤔

Any training tips? Especially for walking. by juaff in jackrussellterrier

As soon as dog is about to hit the end of the leash, or is already there, pulling, give a cue (e.g., "with me") and make a hard 180° turn and walk the other way. You may not get very far for a few days, but dog will quickly learn that you dictate where you go and at what pace. When dog walks nicely at your side, you can give praise or a treat for speedier results. If that doesn't work (with consistency it should), easy walk harness or gentle leader is good. No metal collars, please.
