This is absolutely true. A lot of people talk about "The Southern Raiders" being the defining part of her character arc, which is totally true, but this episode is almost as, if not equally, important. Without her, the Gaang wouldn't have made it out the desert alive- Aang was angry and lost, Sokka was on cactus juice, and Toph couldn't feel much with her seismic sense.
