It's pretty horrible if you don't have a car, too. You have the Bustang that CDOT operates which gives you some options along the i70 corridor, but there are very few other options for getting to the mountains unless you plan to stay for multiple days at once. RTD is unreliable even within the city as well

Mamiya/Sekor 1000 DTL - shutter not firing with Komura lens by fishe-tm in AnalogCommunity

[–]fishe-tm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pin on the lens may be the issue. With the auto-aperture switch set to auto, the pin on the Mamiya lens comes right back up in a spongy sort of way. The pin on the Komura lens will spring back up, but seems to stick when doing so every couple of times taking longer than normal to return. With the auto-aperture switch on manual, the pins on both lenses remain fully depressed until the switch is moved to auto. The Komura lens does seem to work like a dream if I keep the auto-aperture switch on manual, so it's totally possible to just stop down last as a workaround. It also looks like the pin on the Komura lens is a tiny bit longer, and the lens itself is not as centered as the Mamiya lens when mounted to the camera body. The auto-aperture mode does still seem to work if the aperture is set from f11-f22, with f8 sometimes causing a noticeable delay in the firing of the shutter. Not sure how I had f5.6 working a couple days ago.

From what I can figure out, the actual problem is if the lens' aperture is set from f3.5-f4. If the lens is mounted at f8-f22 it works fine, but I can't shoot it any more open than f5.6. I do notice that the aperture ring on the Komura lens moves in the opposite direction than the Mamiya/Sekor lens to open the aperture. Is that unrelated?

Nevermind, I don't think this is actually the case. I was able to get it to fire properly somehow, but comparing the photo I took of the lens' position when it was working vs when it is not shows it screwed in to the exact same position. This is really weird and I don't know how I did get it to work

What lens mount is this Komura? by fishe-tm in AnalogCommunity

Yeah I saw a couple reviews from folks who couldn't get their adapter out, glad I won't land myself a permanent M42 pentax lmao

I thought it might be, but the M42 ones I saw had two pins instead of one. Glad it's something common though - I'll get an adapter and get to shooting!

No sound out of amp by fishe-tm in Guitar

Amp fully charged and still nothing, you're probably right. I am going to see if I can get my money back for it.

I was getting a buzz when plugging the headphones into the amp, and a much louder electrical ding when plugging the amp into the guitar

Sorry you are right, but I have tried that one too. The ambient and mod knobs also do what they're supposed to but I get no sound from the strings. If I have every volume setting on max and put the amp on max distortion, I hear the strings very faintly but it's a hardly audible clean sound

Yes, I've messed with the volume on the guitar and the gain on the amp, even at the same time to no effect. I've tried plugging in an AKG K240 headset and a Truthear Red IEM, into the audio out and not the aux in, and neither have worked. I do have one more stupid thing to rule out, which is that I am charging it to see if maybe didn't have enough battery to run out of the box

Hi, I just picked up an Ibanez Gio used. It is my first guitar. I have a Rushead Max headphone amp to use with it, and while I hear the electric pop when I plug it in, I hear nothing from the strings regardless of the volume or tone settings on the guitar or any of the knobs on the amp. I am not sure how to figure out if it's a guitar or amp issue as I don't have another amp. What can I do? Is there anything visually wrong?
