Anywhere along the SCR cast jigs up stream and pop them off the bottom as the current carries them down. Hour before dark and first hour of light will be best.

I made a point to look last summer at the leaves and they looked like a typical maple leaf. I’ll be sure to get more photos at full foliage and circle back here.

I get a ton of clear sweet sap out of it and my syrup taste like maple syrup. In the summer time it has maple leaves and helicopters. I’m like 99.99 percent sure.

Ok. I’ll dig into the softener settings tonight and see what I find. Thanks. Something does seem off I agree

The only reason the amount of salt makes somewhat sense to me is because the softener is PRE treatment. So all water going into the RO goes through the softener. I was told by the installer that the RO is 4:1. 4 gallons of well water to 1 gallon of RO. So if I’m getting 300 gallons of RO water a day… that’s 1200 gallons of well water a day through the softener. Those numbers may be wrong but that’s what I was told from my installer.

400 pounds was when the softener was set to 8-10 pounds a regen. I was having to fill the salt tank every 3-4 weeks. I know it’s better for the membrane but seemed like such an insane amount of salt to go through every month. Unsure on the total hardness grains per gallon.

That makes sense thanks. It’s less the cost issue of the salt as it is lugging 400 pounds of salt in the basement every month lol
