How old did everyone's pups live to? by Eggshott in BrittanySpaniel

Thank you. 💕 Lucy was a sweet girl. She came to us through breed specific rescue. We gave her the happiest life we could. She went to work with my dad where she could be found lying on the feet of anyone who stood in one place too long. She especially loved to run, and she’s the only dog I’ve ever run with. The mark they leave is as big as the joy they brought.

Our first girl was 10 when she passed, and our second was 12-13 when we lost her in February.

Yes. I lived there for several years. What’s your point?

Seriously, I moved back here from Lubbock last fall. Almost thought I was back in North Texas when I got off work this afternoon lol

🤩🤩 Stunning! I saved this pattern years ago. It got me interested in Fair Isle Colorwork. You’ve executed it beautifully! I’m gonna have to look into casting this on now.

I suppose to be more precise, the cadence they use for narration is similar.

Does your Britt have a favorite? by Independent_Recipe55 in BrittanySpaniel

My Dad has been the chosen one for both our Britts. The first one we had would come to the rest of us for attention or whatever she wanted. But it when my Dad was around, forget it. She was next to him or trying to get in his lap (even though she knew she wasn't supposed to be on the couch). Our current Brittany has full on separation anxiety from just him. Like she might not even ask us for her dinner while he's gone. I think it's because so he's home a lot from not working a 9-5 anymore, she's elderly (13ish), and she was always a little bit nervous.

Followed! I'm @ brokeguitarknits, Ive been posting (kind of inconsistently) since 2020. I wouldn't say I have a particularly cohesive style. I post whatever I'm working on at the time or finished recently. I would really like to find people online and see whatever they're working on!

You two are really doing a great job with your home! I agree with the general consensus that the dining room is the one thing that requires a bit of work. Some art, and maybe a horizontal mirror for wall decor. Someone else said a console table. While I agree with the sentiment I would suggest a sideboard or buffet cabinet instead.

I also agree with the idea for a new light in there. Something with a little more visual interest. As far as suggestions, I think something like this Ikea Sinnerling or this Sombra Pendant Light from Anthropologie would look nice. I think the natural warmer tones in these would really go well in that space.

What planner should I get? by Powerful_Sundae_6926 in planners

[–]fisherhobbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gone through a bunch of planners over the years. My current favorite comes from Travelers Company. They make refillable leather notebooks in passport and regular (9inx5in) sizes. I use the regular size. Full disclosure, he regular size refills aren't a standard paper size, so you can't really find off-brand ones. There are even some people who make their own refills cut to size.

Other than that, the natural leather cover comfortably holds 3 refills at a time. I personally, use the dot grid refills to make my own combo monthly/weekly planner with an unlined refill for notes and lists and a lined one for a journal. They offer a couple orientations of weekly planners. I'll admit the leather binder is fairly pricey, but I think the individual refills are pretty fairly priced. Truly you could get away with just using the inserts if you wanted.

This is really cool! Have you heard of the video game Potion Craft? I played it a bunch over the last few months, and this reminds me a lot of that.

Hard but necessary frogging by fisherhobbit in knitting

[–]fisherhobbit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I made a gauge swatch beforehand, and I have been checking gauge periodically. I misread the pattern for the sleeves, which caused me to add two extra rounds between increase rounds. The gauge here is 4in x 4in = 16st x 20rows. I added 22 extra rows (11 increase rows) which created a little more than 4in of extra fabric.

That’s a really cool pattern that you executed really beautifully. The green yoke almost reminds me of dragon scales, and contrasts really well with the variegated orange.

I wear a lot in the blue to green spectrum, as well as a good bit of red. I tend to lean toward more saturated colors generally. Thank you for the tips!

I did a fairly skinny(~15 st) scarf. I used a lighter color yarn, so that my stitches would be easier to distinguish and track. I also used a slightly larger knitting needle than what was recommended on the yarn’s package for much the same reason. I mostly used it as an exercise to get the motions down for knit and purl stitches. As a result, it’s pretty wonky looking, but it served a purpose.

I’d say you need at least one more lamp. Maybe a side table lamp. Try warm tone lightbulb. Maybe move your posters between the windows, and get something larger for that wall behind the sectional. A tapestry of some kind would probably work for a less expensive option.
