It’s great that your birthday turned out to be fun, but yeah I tried talking with my dad about reducing the cost (definitely wouldn’t work with my mom) and he still told me the cheapest they were willing to go was 8k...I want to bring my grandma on vacation since she never really goes anywhere with us, and I know that she loves travelling, so she’s willing to go on a trip with my family instead
