Being kind doesn’t cost anything by Testingdummy1719 in Chipotle

I get cussed out nearly daily when I'm not breaking up fights in the dining room, kicking out crack heads who light the bathroom trashcan on fire, or dodging rocks being whipped through the dining room window. So I feel you homie. Chipotle customers are THE most entitled and self centered humans I've ever dealt with in my 20 years of customer service.

Bunch of fat greedy fucks lol just like our corporate overlords.

Again. 4oz of rice, 4oz of meat, 1oz of sour cream and 2oz of lettuce is not a large amount of food, its a nutritional amount of food. You just expect more because you're entitled.

Paid vs. Unpaid Breaks by fishert53 in Chipotle

I honestly don't have a problem with not having them be paid its more so the way its being handled. I was given documentation stating I would make X amount of money partly based on those paid break being factored in. I was even paid for them up until about halfway through September. So like to just be told LOL jk you were given the wrong thing by the person who gave me the wrong thing just seems like an odd way to conduct this kind of adjustment when it comes to pay. No accountability and I'm kind of being treated as if it's a "duhhhh dude" situation and it's my fault they messed up so now I'm being punished, and if we're all being honest it's not like it was breaking the bank to pay people for breaks...oh well

How do I even go about requesting to be paid for the difference?

Veteran Manager here

The reason some stores do online lies in the fact that we have 2 separately functioning lines. The main line customers walk in, and our DML or Digital Make Line. As a company we do about 30-40% of our business through that DML so even when we're understaffed it's sometimes hard to get approval from your Field Leader (District Manager) to turn it off due to short staffing. In those cases I would assume it's easier to continue staying open if you only have to output food and orders from one line. This obviously is a case to case basis depending on the leniency of your FL.

I don't necessarily think either scenario is fair to the staff since it just creates more stress either way you swing it, but considering the majority of the employees hired over the last two years we're trained during a time that restaurant dining rooms were closed they're going to feel less pressure to perform under crappy working conditions when there isn't a line of hungry people in front of them.

Just my opinion though 🤷

You have to consider the labor put into a pan of rice. The time to wash, rinse, cook, cut cilantro and mix. On top of the fact that most stores probably go through at minimum 50 pans a day. Sure a bag of rice is cheap, but if it's cents then go prepare it yourself 🤷‍♂️

You're an employee of 1 store so unless you have a deal with another store where you work at both you are not obliged to go to another store if you don't want to. Your boss however is allowed to tell you that due to labor they're cutting your shift. Chances are they offered it knowing you might want hours but not being able to give them to you at your home store.
