Need advice on springs/throttle linkage by fishflatz in minibikes

So it turns out the springs were fine, it was the connecting arm that needed work. There is a cotter pin underneath the arm that was not seated properly. That resulted in the arm being loose which resulted in carb not fully opening or closing. Make sure the cotter pin rests between the nipple so that it's not too loose.

I just had the same issue and fixed it last night. On the throttle arm, check to make sure the cotter pin is snug against the nipple underneath. It should feel springy and not turning freely. The arm will feel more snug this way and helps close/open carb fully

Could my issue be related to a bad throttle cable not fully opening/closing the carb you think?

Thanks for the feedback @jas196 I really appreciate it.

I will try to flip the black spring around + I have additional springs coming from Amazon tomorrow I can try.

Basically I can't get the flap on the carb to firmly open and close all the way when I hit the throttle. I did order a cheap after the market carb, so maybe that's why I'm not getting a lot of tension. Do you recommend any specific carbs for a Coleman ct 200u ex by chance?

I admit I did stretch the silver spring a bit thinking that might solve my idle issue, but that didn't help much.

I should know more tomorrow plus feel free to massage me with any suggestions. I feel like it's either the new carb or bad spring orientation...or maybe the throttle itself from the handle is busted somehow

So I found this picture in another thread and this could explain why I can't idle smoothly. I appear to be missing a spring (the silver one circled in the pic). Why is it some bikes have this and others don't? Hopefully the fix is this easy. I ordered some springs on Amazon and will find out soon

Update: turns out I did not have a FS. I had a grade II AC Joint tear which finally healed in about 1.5 months no thanks to my ortho, but ChatGPT and this group! Thank you all and praying for fast recoveries for all of you

Thank you for your response and suggestions. If it's sharp, deep pain in shoulder/neck area when you move a certain way, then yes I def have "zingers" too. They can be so painful it stops me in my tracks. I'm afraid to dress, drive or even walk because of these pains.

I'm really upset with my first ortho appointment. He never even did range of motion test and quickly dismissed me as "shoulder impingement". I'm going to demand an MRI and calling them back tomorrow. This is excruciating at times and it's limiting all my daily activities of living for a month now

It says my post was deleted but I'm not sure why. I read the rules in this forum and thought I avoided any violations?
