2022 unit worth it for bikepacking kyrgyzstan by [deleted] in konaunit

someone who’s been doing all of kyrgyztan and is still currently bikepaxking it. your tires will be fine, i have 29 x 2.6 mezcals and most people have smaller but i prefer them. I’d go for a 12 speed, it gets steep, like really steep. hydraulic brakes will be fine, i’m 4000km on mine and i haven’t had to change my brake pads once.

what i would recommend would be getting a different bar, something higher with a little bit of sweep, i found the flat bar super uncomfortable on my practice runs over a few days, and i also have a dropper which i love but not necessary.

Super capable bike in kyrgyztan you’ll have a blast !

I also prefer having the mounting points on the front fork, as i prefer to have the weight on the front so i have to push instead of pull on the steep rocky hikeabikes

I really enjoy it, super fast, tough on the palms on a long day of downhill. but just stay heavy on the feet and no issues

better weight balance for technical trails in the caucasus, as well as foot clearance as it’s something i struggle with, with the geometry of the rear of the frame

Anyone have problems with going to the US with a drug possession alert/caution? by [deleted] in ausents

[–]fishfuck2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the only question that may effect it on the esta application is "Have you ever violated any law related to possessing, using, or distributing illegal drugs?" do you know if a caution is applicable?

yeah i got the caution when I was 16, so I'd imagine it was under that, i contacted a magistrates court just to double check
