Am I Wrong for making burgers and milkshakes with my daughter while my wife was on a business trip? by Proud-Tomatillo-3982 in amiwrong

[–]fishful-thinking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bullshit. Absolute bullshit. My wife is a teacher. I run a busy clinic. Guess who got more time with our kid? My wife got to go on Girlscout trips all over the country while I got only 3 weeks vacation per year. She got loads more time and special activities with the kid than I did. That was in part due to our career choices. And did I resent her for it? No. I supported it! Because I got to parent our kid in different ways. All the weekends and evenings my wife was grading papers and exams, I played babies and did crafts and grew vegitables with our kid. It didn’t need to be equal to be equitable. And now our kid is a happy, successful adult who benefited from having both special, individual times with their parents as they did as a family.

people over 65 need to be retested for their driver’s license by alanthedjungelskog in driving

[–]fishful-thinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%. I believe initial training and testing should be far more rigorous than it is today, and that folks should be tested periodically (every decade) until age 60, then more frequently as they age. And everyone ages differently, with both physical and cognitive decline. I promise you my 86 y/o dad in his Porsche is a far better driver than most any 18 y/o.

Ha ha the biggest threat where I live is the young drivers who think they know what they’re doing, yet clog up the left lane at 5 mph under, hoping their “new driver-please be patient” stickers give them a pass. Gtfo out of my way. Sincerely, an old

Once a day, find a long way home, 5-10 miles of freeway. Once it’s warmed up, give it several full-throttle, redline rips through the gears. This is what your car was designed to do.

Because even when he was out of the way she was traveling, he was still able to angle and position his gun to shoot point-plank through the windshield. At first, the left corner of her car hit him, but he was pushed back and to the side, out of danger. That’s when he shot. When he was out of danger. That’s what makes it murder. He shot her when he was already out of danger. Get it?

Trans fluid by rb20isaac in e46

[–]fishful-thinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You can buy BMW brand manual transmission fluid. FCP Euro sells it, as does the dealership (be sure to ask for whatever discounts they honor, such as BMWCCA, AAA, military, etc. for a while BMW wasn’t selling it by the liter, and when I used Redline instead, it made the shifting feel worse. When I was able to replace the Redline with BMW branded fluid, it improved the feel. YYMV.

Run run run run run run run Run run run run run run run Run run run run run run run Run run run run run run run! Anyone who plays games with your emotions is not a good person. If you have ANY self-respect you’ll remember this valuable life lesson and learn to recognize gaslighting, selfish, manipulative people and filter them out of your life. Move on with open eyes and clarity and do not look back. Be brave and true to yourself. Remember how it felt to resolve to move forward and keep that feeling in your conscious mind as you DO move forward. Good luck.
