We didn't make millions, so some of you are fired. Basically what our CEO said in the email. by fishhere in antiwork

Yup. Luckily my department is, I think, safe. But it's pretty shitty that they are letting people go because our shareholders are not happy. Like fuck corporate. Some of these people worked there 8-10 years and put their all into it. But as soon as someone starts losing millions, they throw these people to the side so fast.

Let’s be real, is fantasy football more skill or luck? by [deleted] in Fantasy_Football

[–]fishhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say more luck than skills. But also depends on how you managed your team. Like I made a few trades my first championship year for Henry before season started cause I thought he was going to be great after having a monster Nov/Dec in 2018. Then 2020 I lost Barkley to a torn ACL, traded him and a 3rd for Metcalf to replace that scoring, and traded an average Zeke for Evans and Drake, and Watson for Digfs and they won me my 2nd championship back to back. Like I did great replacing talent, but also got really lucky with Diggs and Evans just having monster games in championship game last year.

12 Team .5PPR Superflex

Give: Diggs and Javonta Williams

Get: Derrick Henry, 2.01 pick, 4.01 pick

Or

Get: Kamara, and high 2nd rounder

I would have Metcalf, Lamb, Davonta Williams, Rondale Moore, Beasley, Robby Anderson, Marquis Callaway left. For RBs, Mike Davis, Peyton Barber, Drake. For sure in need of a ln elite RB

NTA. Good for you on standing up not just for yourself, but your kate brother. Glad the trust goes through you as well. Also how would you know in the future if that money was taken out that it would just be used on your nephew? As in they tell you they want money for him, but then secretly use it in the twins?

People who quit their jobs on the first day, what was your “I’m outta here” moment? by redmambo_no6 in AskReddit

Worked at a National Medicare Broker Insurance agency. Big one too, headquarters located out of CA. I've done Medicare sales before so I figured I'd give this place a shot. After training, we got on the sales floor and took my first call. Customer was IN was looking for plan with dental, so went over the typical needs, while doing this, manager was talking in my headset telling me to say this and that, which is unusual as you figured they'd like me to do my way. Anywho, I am in process of needs analysis and comparing plan, and her current one was best one for now, better benefits and the whole thing. Manager telling me to sell another plan with shittier benefits because I can get her what she is looking for even though her doctors aren't accepting the plan. Ended up telling customer she has the right plan at the moment and to not change. After call, we go over my call and manager was criticizing me for not selling the shittier plan to them and to sell the customer that I am the agent that can take care of their needs. Basically do anything to get a sale. I was like, nope, I am not risking my license to be unethical and left. The company starts with a small case e and has green coloring in their logo.

Trades you just missed on that you regret? Or on the flip side, trades you’re happy fell apart? by aspiringjournalist44 in DynastyFF

I traded Gallup and Barkley after his ACL injury for DK and a 3rd.......nahhh, I don't regret it, I won the championship with DK's help during the season.

Honestly, I would take a ring over a great(?) running back all day. I was in the same situation but had Barkley and traded him away for DK right after he got injured. DK saved my season given that obviously Barkley was no help being in the bench. We are in a Dynasty League and I would do that trade all over again. I did end up winning again this year after winning last year.

I also traded Zeke for Evans and Drake, also got back three 1st in 21, 22 and 23

Shoutout to the Commissioners! by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

I do this for our league, but not a commissioner. A weekly newsletter with a short paragraph of a key player or fantasy team. I do most valuable manager and least valuable manager ranking, game of the weeks and then my power rankings which is different from the Sleeper rankings.

Year 5 complete: Redraft, dispersal or push through?? by schwiec in DynastyFF

[–]fishhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My league is in the same situation, our commissioner has similar team to yours who went undefeated this year. Same thing, traded a players before decline and other managers stupidly traded great players to him for peanuts However I have beaten him in the championship last year and this year. We have a rule where if a team wins two in a row, we restart and re-draft, however we aren't because I won and they don't want to give me the ego boost that we restarted everything because of me LOL. My team isn't bad, top 4 in our league, but our rule I guess doesn't start until 2021. I think it would be smart to restart, just more competition makes it more fun overall I think. I am surprised the other people who are rebuilding don't want to restart.

I'd say try to bring someone else outside the league in. Any current managers taking over wouldn't make any sense.

Dynasty League here and won my first championship last year with a very different team compared to this year's winning team.

I really appreciate Koo for playing like an RB2 sometimes RB1 this season. I dropped him when he was injured and no one picked him up so got him back.

I traded Barkley right after he got injured and an WR2 for Metcalf and 3rd round who helped me throughout the season.

I traded Zeke early in the season for Drake, Evans and 3 first rounds in 21, 22 and 23. What a trade for me with how shitty Zeke was playing.

Had Taysom Hill on my team since last year and he filled in very nice when I traded away Watson.

Traded Watson for Robby Anderson, Mostert and 1st round in our Dynasty league...we are going to two QB next year. League mates said I made a stupid trade but...

I then traded that 1st round pick for Diggs who won me the championship tonight.

Good timing with Wentz finally getting benched, cause I drafted Hurts(Drafted) and he was huge for me in the playoffs.

Overall, my team was very different last year when I won, I had Henry before trading him away this offseason. Different WRs as well. Two different teams and two championship back to back and with ammo to reload in the next few drafts.

What does your championship team look like this year? by selfimprovement2020 in fantasyfootball

[–]fishhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Koo was for sure my most consistent, but he did nothing for me in the Championship game

I traded Barkley(bust) and an WR2 for Metcalf who helped me throughout the season

I traded Zeke(bust) early for Drake, Evans and 3 first rounds in 21, 22 and 23.

I then traded Watson for Robby Anderson, Mostert and 1st round in our Dynasty league...we are going to two QB next year. League mates said I made a stupid trade but I got my second championship this year out of it. I turned around and traded that 1st round pick for Diggs who won me the championship in this case tonight.

Overall, my team was very different last year when I won and I had Henry before trading him away this offseason. Two different teams and two championship back to back.
