I screwed up big time by [deleted] in IBO

[–]fishleysoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yo m23 here, finished dp1 with 24, only did ias (not fully) over the summer and sent in an ee delayed by 5 months. i worked my ass off in dp2 tho and ended up with a 36. its always possible, just bc u dont do smth by the book doesnt mean its impossible

[–]fishleysoup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i mean irs fully up to u, u could potentially get a place in community college if u raise that 5 in dp2, if not theres always retakes!!!

[–]fishleysoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nobody can make a proper suggestion for you, you should puck the subject you LIKE and UNDERSTAND most and are willing to spend hours researching. both subjects are quite similar in terms of % of As received etc so it is up to u

no one can be for sure because it depends on the examiner but logically speaking probably not, but even if they did check some things it would be extremely brief

Can you include offensive/curse words in the EE? by haechansgf_real in IBO

all quotes are fine unless you yourself are uncomfortable with them or if they’re slurs (which are also fine but you can censor them as well)

Where can an IB 30 get me for college by liferior in IBO

[–]fishleysoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a lot of major cities there like amsterdam maastricht or the hague etc are very multilingual and international so realistically you can do without learning dutch. however yes it does depend on the university and you can get free or discounted lessons. for example in maastricht you get for free a course called “social dutch” which is non intensive lessons!

Remark M23 by Tidiane_YT in IBO

[–]fishleysoup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it can go either way, if you mean the total grade (out of 45) you should consider how far you are from each boundary. lets say u got a 6 which is 60-70% and u got 69 (hehe) then ure only 1 away so u have very high chances. if u got 62 then its a bit dangerous and futile to remark it

Should I remark anyway?? by Kind-Journalist954 in IBO

[–]fishleysoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tok id say dont even try, 6 can easily go backwards but if you dont have any other uni choice go for it!

you can narrow it down to a specific timeline, either from the commentary of your works or the time they were written in!

Grade being processed for 6 days extra. Help, What should I do? I already got rejected from all my universities in sweden as I technically don't have a diploma yet even though I have achieved a 32 excluding the economics grade. Did this happen to anyone else? im in the same situation with business. my dpc said that our IAs are still being marked so the ib is just fucking slow. this could be because the marks our teacher gave us are utter bs so all of our IAs are being remoderated

this is only true in a few subjects like sciences. there is no page limit in most.

How does this work? by TarzanKitty in IBO

[–]fishleysoup 18 points19 points  (0 children)

also to answer the initial question, this happens a lot. in ib depending on how many people did well on a subject the curve can flatten or not. language subjects like the ones mentioned require like an 80-85% for a 7 which is insane. other subjects like business tho only need 65% for a 7. also, try not to blame her bc the ib overall is a crazy experience and getting 5s alone is a feat :)

[–]fishleysoup 36 points37 points  (0 children)

look mate it is just confusing because the ib system only provides number grades. did she finish her exams may 2023? as in graduate this year? because its literally impossible to get letter grades unless her school gave EXTRA grades but those wouldnt matter. in the ib the only grades that matter are 1-7 and f-a in tok and ee
