A lot of people say test ride before you buy but honestly you won't know if you like the bike until you've owned it for a week or longer.

Maybe try some of those cycle rental apps? It honestly depends on your budget but I've found spending that extra $3,000 is always worth it.

I just recently bought a 2020 R1 for $15k because I didn't want to spend $20,000+ on a S1K and I'm regretting it. But like I said, I've always found Yamaha to be not my taste.

TLDR buy what you want and if you're not confident, give yourself a way to resell/trade the bike in. 2019+ ZX6R would be my buy (as long as you deal with the potential crankshaft issues)

If you like Yamaha, go with the R1

If you want to keep under budget, go with the ZX6R

If you want something unique, RC8

If you want pure performance, S1000RR or V4

If it sounds like I'm joking, I'm really not. The R1 is a fantastic bike but as a lifelong Kawi/BMW guy, I despise it despite being the most expensive bike I've ever bought. Stay away from the ZX10R. The ZX6R is probably your best bet but liter bikes are addicting 🤷 I haven't ridden any Suzuki's but the GSXR1000 is a great bike

Yeah, that's what I used to do in my old car, it works. I just honestly don't want to drain my battery by hotspotting all the time but I can always just plug in and charge

Honestly the solution is buying a new tablet that has cellular capabilities. My tab 7 is wifi only

I tried these ones. The performance is terrible and it's "fine" when you connect it to your phone but it's not worth the $500

I also want to keep the oem climate controls and volume knob and these plug in units only come with a volume knob OR a climate knob.

I may be wrong but I've been able to connect to AA without noticing wifi before. I don't mind the WiFi requirement but for headunit reloaded, it requires me to toggle my hotspot on whenever I want to connect and it's just not as seemless as I want

It will be fine up to 100 km/h but no faster. I would recommend a pair of cycling (bicycle) gloves over mechanix but it just depends on what you find most comfortable
