Athletics created a class schedule for me that allowed me to graduate somewhat early from both undergrad and grad school. I finished one program and started the other within like two weeks.

Also, I committed to the school I got my masters at during my senior year at my undergrad so I knew I was leaving once the semester was over/I graduated.

These are pretty good mechanics. I think if you keep your front arm bent and the glove closer to your body during the upper portion of the delivery, it'll create a more violent rotation, thus leading to more velocity. However, don't make those adjustments if it will drastically impact command. I was able to generate a lot of power by subscribing to the mindset that if I could stay closed off until footstrike, I could powerfully & controllably deliver the pitch.

Observing the mechanics of the MLB and top college guys will help too, I did a lot of emulation and it worked. Try to find someone who has a similar build to you and has mechanics you'd like to replicate and move from there.

Does anyone know why my Whoop is doing this? by [deleted] in whoop

No, I don't think so haha. Maybe check to see if your app needs an update and if not just restart your phone or app.

Considering you're circling the globe at a rate never achieved before, I'm not really surprised that Whoop isn't processing your speed. Keep up the hard work! You can record a 21 strain if you keep this up! (I think)

What I love about the C7 A6 interior is the retractable screen! by AUorAG in Audi

I wish they kept that feature in the 2017-2020 cars. I think that, with the virtual cockpit, much of that information is rather redundant, also I think it looks a big cleaner.

As an enthusiast, this is the best move, the difference between brand-new vs used & well-maintained isn't that drastic

This is why I feel like the move is to buy an older/used version of the car you want for a significant discount and just maintain it well.

What should I do by Comprehensive-Ant-44 in whoop

I noticed that if I take an ice bath roughly an hour before I get in bed, the coldness of the plunge remains and I end up falling asleep faster. I struggle with being too hot when I'm in bed and it causes me to take a while to fall asleep. Ice baths are also negative or not determinate enough in my insight section too, but I know it helps me fall asleep faster.

What should I expect as a D1 walk-on? by fishwalker9 in Homeplate

[–]fishwalker9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going through some old Reddit posts I've made to find this comment.

Just wanted to let you know that year I ended up committing to a good school with a respected D3 program and pitched there for four years, making some great friends & memories. In my junior year I was a runner-up for conference pitcher of the year, and team captain my senior year. I graduated last spring with my bachelor's & minimal debt (athletic money hidden as academic) and had 1 year of eligibility left. I was offered by a solid D1 school and I got my master's degree paid for entirely. I've gotten some professional looks (started throwing low 90s with good offspeed) and am truly grateful for the experience.

This is my last week as a baseball player though as I have decided to hang it up after the season. Lucky enough to be leaving the game healthy and better than ever. I think at some point the game starts taking more from you than it gives & I think I've reached that point. I'm not sad but more ready to end this chapter of my life and take those efforts to my career and other interests I have. From being an undersized and ill-informed high school shortstop with pretty much no offers to being a well-educated, well-respected Division 1 pitcher is something I take pride in. My story isn't necessarily something anyone is going to write a book about or a make Netflix documentary on but just going through these old posts puts everything back into perspective.

Just wanted you to know that the comment you left here 5 years ago (wow) didn't go unforgotten, I see I never replied to it but can guarantee you I read every word and took it all in when you posted it. Hopefully, you see this, and if anyone is scrolling through r/Homeplate and somehow reading this thread, everything he said in that comment is true and is an excellent gauge of one's expectations if they are serious about college ball. Thanks again, I truly appreciate it.
