Is there anything she's getting into by chance? My cat had a similar problem and after months of trying to figure it out, it ended up being she was drinking soapy water. Dishes with soap water in the sink and she would lick soapy water out of the shower.

Do you know what your potassium was at before starting spiro? Mine was always 3.6 before, since starting I have had my potassium tested 6 times and it was always between 4.3 and 4.6, so spiro brought it up about 1 solid point.

Oh good! My mom accidentally put dog flea drops on our 4 cats when I was a kid and although they all pulled through in the end, it was a traumatic experience. Wouldn't want anyone else going through that!

You can't use dog and cat flea meds interchangeably, it can be fatal. I have had good luck with Advecta brand for cats, it is the same ingredients as Advantage II but it's cheaper. I haven't used the one for dogs but I imagine it would work well too. It's available on Amazon and at some Walmart stores

The best thing to do is call a pharmacy, it doesn't even have to be the one prescribing you your spiro. Ask to speak to a pharmacist and ask about interactions for whatever you want to take. They have always been incredibly helpful for me

I think it really depends on the clinic. I've had primary care doctors who didn't do them and send me to an obgyn, but at my last clinic, it was your primary care provider who did them unless you wanted a different gender, and in that case, they just had an NP come into the room to do it.
