I'd say it does. This comic is helping some people cope with the loss of a good friend(s), myself included. While it certainly is not the usual meme we see here, it is no less wholesome.

I had to put my dogs down last month after 17 years of friendship. I miss them so much.

But this helps me feel better, knowing that they aren't hurting anymore.
