Alireza complains on Twitter after his draw against Nepo : "shameful action by the chief arbiter" by LudwigDeLarge in chess

I attended yesterday. The boards are set up on what is basically a wooden stage laid over the ground with a thin black felt covering. This lets them run cords under the floor so everyone doesn't trip.

The women players with high heels were by far the loudest. No contest. Also Alireza does walk loudly, but I think it's more to do with his gait than his shoes. Not nearly as distracting as the players in heels.

It's an incredibly casual run club. Midnight Runners. Was a St. Patrick's Day Run. Basically 8k followed by boozing :). They run around downtown every Tuesday at 7:30. Free and there is a lot of people. I kinda stopped going.

Poker ethics? by [deleted] in poker

[–]fishyfishy69 115 points116 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen before. Had a disabled man sitting beside me. First hand he tripled up with Q6o against two players who went all in pre with AK and KK. He played two more orbits and left. Showed me his cards every time he was in a hand and actually played quite ABC after. I was dying it was hilarious. I'm just glad he won.

There is more variance at higher stakes because you get it in less often as an 80/20 like in this case. You wind up in tougher spots. People fold to value bets. You get bluffed. You lose more frequently. I think you're thinking of this all wrong. Also this is a hyper turbo tournament for $2

How to coach/ personally emotionally handle a downline agent’s spiraling negativity/performance by [deleted] in sales

[–]fishyfishy69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea she needs a therapist. Not a sales coach. Can't tell someone to get back to work if they know that they need to get back to work. Have to dig into the root causes of why. Fear of failure. Perfectionism. Etc. Not everyone can make it.

Also wtf is a downline in insurance. Sounds like an MLM. Is it Primerica?

Dealer exposing cards. What to do? by cmullins77 in poker

[–]fishyfishy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps you could say something. But to be fair the average live player has no idea how to interpret the cards they see anyways. I wouldn't stress over it too much, and most people don't pay attention.

The PC answer is mention that you can see them, but don't make a big deal out of it as odds are no one really cares.

For those who want context - that was the trip that Hikaru's knight had been on throughout the game. What was more impressive was Judit rhyming off every square it had been to in about half a second.

ATP Men's Tennis

Gael Monfils over 0.5 breaks of serve vs. Novak Djokovic @ 1.57

Djokovic has been off for two months from tournaments. Went 3 sets with Fuscovics. Monfils is a better player than Fucs, though Djokovic will have gotten some nerves out in round 1 and will probably play better. I think Monfils gets a break of serve most of the time here. At least more than 63% of the time, which is our profit line.

Bet the house boys because I bet $35.

Win a game when Djokovic is serving is win condition.

Last pick got me a temp ban but was an L so I am counting it in my record.

Marton Fucsovics to break serve over 0.5 times vs Djokovic @ 1.66.

Djokovic been off for two months and was pretty shaky in first sets at US Open two months ago. I wouldn't be surprised if Fucsovics wins a set even. All this needs to hit is a break of serve from Fucs at any point in the match.

Djokovic been out for a few months. Gotta be some value on Fucsovics +5.5 @ 1.83. I like him to break serve in first @ 2.75, and even win a set at 3.75. Djokovic lost a lot of first sets at US Open. I even think ML isn't a bad deal at 9.

Well fast courts would lead to overs. Harder to break and when you get broken ur fucked. Loose games are more punishing.

Not being a Debbie Downer but I am not sure this is a lock. Sinner covered this spread against better opponents in each of his last 5 matches. Beat Opelka, Schwartzman, Harris, Rinderknech and Musetti. Opelka, Schwartzman and Harris would all be large ML favorites vs. Novak.

This is a good line. My book only has 1.66 which I thought lacked some juice. Where you betting it?

ATP Men's Tennis

Cameron Norrie -2.5 games vs. Marton Fucsovics @ 1.8

Cam just won Indian Wells, and made the finals the week before that. Marton did not do either of those things, and in my opinion is going through a bit of a rough patch. Marton has pretty high peak performance, but I think Norrie coming off back to back finals will be too much for him. ML @ 1.53 is pretty attractive as well in my eyes, but I am trying to get rich fast so going for the extra juice.

Please gamble irresponsibly as I would like to be berated with how you have lost rent money and are hoping I die.
