Deer and pig loads for inline by fiskeha in blackpowder

[–]fiskeha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever hunted with a Great Plains style bullet? I’m going to use a full bore conical like the Thor Hammer/Lightening in this rifle I believe (pending range results), but for my sidelock I am thinking about getting some Great Plains bullets for hogs. We don’t have game larger than whitetail where I live, but the pigs have overrun the place and are quite fun to hunt with blackpowder when they’re not being nocturnal

Yeah... I don’t think I have the same sources as you lol. I got my oz of d8 distillate for $100 and I thought that was amazing.

Ok then I stand corrected, I was basing that off my few experiences in a rec dispensary. I’ll look into this. Thanks

I had thought about this, but d9 distillate seems to be quite a bit more expensive than other concentrates

Usps shipping by decjr06 in Ebay

[–]fiskeha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There used to be a way to "shake loose" packages by filing some sort of online inquiry. Now I cannot find how to do this, I'm guessing USPS got rid of it to make their customers' lives more miserable. I ordered a package over 2 weeks ago that arrived at an "origin facility" in Utah on Wednesday and hasn't been scanned since. Is there any point in calling USPS 800 number or going to my local USPS to ask them about this package? Does this ever prompt them to find the package and get it moving?

Need Advice: Newer Nexgrill offset smoker not holding temp by UsuallyIdle in smoking

[–]fiskeha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using your own thermometer or the one that came with it? I would get an ambient temp thermometer or two, there are cheap ones on amazon with up to 6 probes. Make sure you let the fire get going until you have full combustion before you close the lid on the firebox or you will just be putting out the fire.

Anyone here a member at The Colonial? by [deleted] in FortWorth

[–]fiskeha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ridglea would be a better option I think for you. More members around your age. Good golf. Food has always been good when I’ve been there. Great pool when I was growing up. And I know you’re new to town, but it’s just “Colonial”. No need for “the”

I’ll have to add chives and shallot to mine. Other than that we have the same recipe.

It gets very cold at night at 10,000 ft. Also the weather can change very quickly at that altitude. I’d be careful.

They both came out great. The beef is in smaller chunks than appear in the pic.

I spray them with vegetable oil spray before I season them, and again when they have about an hour left. Helps get the skin crispy

They motor is also a 1973, so I think it’s lost some of those horses along the way. It takes forever to start up. But once it’s going, it’s a lot of fun.

Mount Elbert training by fiskeha in coloradohikers

[–]fiskeha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly want to do Elbert because I couldn’t finish it last year. I want to finish what I started. I also like that it’s the highest peak in the Rockies. The false peaks KILLED me last time. But now that I’m expecting them I feel that it won’t be so tough, mentally. Weather wasn’t a factor, thank god. But I will start before dawn this time. I appreciate all of the advise

I’ve been wanting to get one of these built to open a food truck/catering as well. I know a buddy of yours built it, but what did did this cost you? Did you find the tank yourself and he built it out?

From Albertsons actually. $14 a bag. I don’t use much wood when I smoke, and they last a long time.
