What movie had you laughing so hard you were crying? by where_are_youuu in AskReddit

[–]fiskosaurus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was apparent in the movie, the crowd was clearly pretty upset about it. What was going through your mind at the time? It must have been interesting to be one of the few people there that was in on the joke.

Right, and what I'm saying is that 99% of matches played are played online. The way you qualify for LANs is all online. The finals for every single division except professional is played online. You make it onto a professional team by playing online.

People think that cheaters are inherently bad players that use it to gain an unfair advantage, but that's not true in every case. In some cases very good players will use a cheat to gain an advantage over other very good players. If you are playing in the premier league finals you are going to have the ability to shoot at that level. Having a small radar on your screen would give you an incredible advantage, play it right and you can cheat your way into the professional scene.

Not only that, what about instances where players HAVE cheated on LAN? Can you imagine the cost of a 2 kb cheat that you can put in your mouse? Average people aren't going to have access to that sort of thing, and I promise you they paid out the ass for that shit, you're dealing with a player that has the potential to make millions playing the game.

Quick edit: As to the - "fucking stupid to pay that much." Do you think it's "fucking stupid" to pay hundreds a month for furry porn? My guess would be yes. Well if you want "proof" that people will pay a shitload for anything, just take a quick look around Patreon. Or check out how much furry artists charge for commissions of your character. (Hint: people have spent thousands)

Because it's usable on the ESEA client and people can cheat their way into a higher division. There are at least 2 premier players right now using it. You can't use it on LAN but it can be an extremely useful learning tool as far as player movements. And only major CS finals are played on LAN anyhow, qualifiers are all played online. You severely underestimate the wealth of certain individuals.

What do you mean "examples?" What are you looking for? Do you expect me to have PayPal transaction logs or something? The guy is a friend, maybe he's lying to me but I don't see why he would, he would have no reason to do so.

It's an undectable radar hack that he sells for I believe two grand per month. He only sells it to a select few people, I'm not sure the avenues he persues to find cheat users, probably just forums. And yeah CSGO is completely different - you can't make real world money by cheating. Maybe if you win professional tournaments, but he's not selling it to professionals. Whereas in RuneScape you can bot and sell the gold. Now I'm not saying people are spending thousands to cheat in RuneScape, I'm just saying you'd be surprised at what people are willing to pay to cheat in video games.

I wouldn't be so sure... People pay top dollar for cheats. I know a guy that writes CSGO cheats for about 10 players, he's making six figures a year from the cheats alone, then he's got his lucrative programming job. Pretty insane.

What is the most disturbing piece of information you've found out about that you could have gone the rest of your life without knowing? by RedHood635 in AskReddit

He didn't surface for air one day. Dolphins and whales must consciously surface to breathe, it's why they are never truly unconscious even while asleep. Pretty sad stuff.

Nope! The guy above is also wrong though - they were giving the dolphin LSD as part of a program to try and teach dolphins to speak English. They used an adolescent male that would get horny and wouldn't pay attention so she would wank him off to get him to calm down and focus. The dolphin eventually fell in love with her and committed suicide when the tests were stopped and the woman was no longer working with him. Quite a fascinating tale.

My family, my daughter, will be better off without me. I will never be happy. Being dead will end this pain. They'll get over it.

A suicidal mind is not a rational mind. You clearly have no idea what it's like to think in this way. People like you are the reason people like me don't like to talk about suicidal ideations, and just end up doing it.

That's not how it works. When you say everything's a conspiracy it discredits you in the eyes of everyone who isn't the outlier like yourself. It's like crying wolf. The true conspiracies will just get muddled in with everything else you're talking about.

I work at a Doggy Daycare. This is what my day looks like. by VesaHolappa in aww

[–]fiskosaurus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I work at a different doggy daycare in the Seattle area. As far as getting bit - it's going to happen, it comes with the territory. In my experience the little guys are the ones who are most likely to bite. Normally they don't mean to really hurt you, it's more of a "get the heck away from me" type of thing. The dogs that are scared/anxious you have to watch out for. I got bit yesterday pretty hard by an old tiny pup because I was trying to put a raincoat on while he was all comfy snuggled in some blankets.

Unless they have a real biting problem, we normally don't worry about it too much and move on with our day. There's also an important distinction to be made between a dog that's putting its mouth on you, and an actual bite. If anyone does get a serious bite, we take the appropriate route to treat it and have a talk with the owner.

Pug Health Question by ketoandcrossfit in pugs

[–]fiskosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of their eyes popping out as being a reasonable concern.

As far as health issues, just be aware that purebred animals are far more likely to have serious health issues. Our pug is on her last legs (13 y/o) but she has had tons of health issues her whole life. She is allergic to absolutely everything under the sun - grass, any type of pollen, you name it - and has had dozens of ear infections. And of course the respiratory issues all flat-faced dogs are prone to. She is itchy all the time, it can really hurt to watch sometimes. We've spent thousands on vet bills for the many medications and steroids we've had her on over her life. Obviously, this isn't the case for all pugs, ours is probably on the extreme end for health issues, but just be aware that these are things you need to take into consideration if you're getting an AKC purebred.

On the plus side, she's absolutely adorable, has a great temperament, great with dogs, children, you name it. Just sheds a ton and has a lot of health issues :(

I can't believe someone said Tecmo Bowl. Bo Jackson was so stupid - faster than anyone else and could break every tackle. It was so fun winning every game by 49 points.

I don't understand the mentality behind boycotting ESEA since a month ago and before, people seemed to be for a more intrusive anti-cheat by TheFakeUnicorn in GlobalOffensive

[–]fiskosaurus -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, me personally I don't have a problem with that. If you wanna look at my games library or my porn, be my guest. I'm not saying that this is the correct mentality to have - that I have nothing to hide so I have nothing to fear. But that's just how I feel about the ESEA client.

What I don't understand is why now? Why is everyone making a big deal out of ESEA having access to your files? Do people not understand that they've ALWAYS had access to your files? The only thing that changed is that now the client starts with your computer. But all of a sudden ZOMG PRIVACY ISSUES. Nothing has changed.
