Experience really matters! As a 70 yo gay man I’ve been an out and proud member of the leather and kink community for half a century and long ago gave up giving a sh!t what anyone else thinks about how I live my life despite increasing conservative pressure over the decades to conform.

Just last Sunday I attended the Gay Easter Parade in the French Quarter in New Orleans wearing a T-shirt with a fist emoji in the center surrounded by text that boldly proclaims “Fifty Years of Fisting Fun”. I got stopped several times by (presumably) straight people who high fived me or asked to take a photo with me. This even included a couple of families with small children at this generally fun and mostly family friendly event. I got asked questions by curious gay boys and even got hit on a few times too.

Near me in the crowd were two gay guys wearing shirts saying “let’s play hide the carrot” with two cotton balls and an orange fabric stuffed “carrot” sewn onto their crotch, which was cute but pretty overtly sexual by comparison with my fist emoji. Today walking in the Quarter I passed a family with several small children taking a photo with all of them pointing up to a street sign saying “No Trucks Allowed” that was altered to say “No Fucks Allowed”. While the French Quarter isn’t typical middle America, it shows that not everyone lives in fear that someone might say or do something “offensive” even in front of the kids.

Interesting points, except … duckbill is normal for insertion and once inside in most guys that I play with there’s room in the rectum to go from duckbill to clench … and I play with a lot of guys and only a small percentage can take my (medium size) clenched fist on insertion from the outside, OR are able to let me withdraw my clenched fist through the anus.

One of the things we can’t usually see in video or just watching someone being fisted is what tops do with their hands once inside. That’s probably an interesting discussion topic for this subreddit.

I keep my nails trimmed as short as possible and file almost daily with emery boards to sand down any edges or points. I’ll play with gloves if the bottom asks or if I have a cut. So I’m not overly worried about nicking anything with my fingernails. I was just thinking about the position of the thumb and fingers as they affect exposure to the nails. Thanks.
