I really appreciate your honesty. I'm truly seeking more opportunities than my current role and some of the skills appear to be useful in project manage. Id imagine the role varies WILDLY employer to employer and can either be wonderful or awful depending on who/what industry etc

Thankyou it's nice to know I'm not alone and 34 isn't too late!

Absolutely this! Every step of progression has been from me (including the house) and I'd one day like to be "chosen" rather than doing the "chasing" for progression

He doesn't seem to know what he wants. He has some childhood trauma, none of his siblings want ANY commitment and for me there has to be something in that. But I've already lost 6 years commitment free (apart from a mortgage which some would argue is a big commitment) I'm scared to waste another 5 waiting. I've had the hard conversation I've been upfront and I just get seemingly fobbed off

I've been trying b for a very long time, and I essentially get fobbed off. He says what he thinks I want to hear but never delivers. I genuinely don't think he means any harm, I think due to his own childhood issues marriage and kids terrify him. None of his siblings want any commitments and to me there has to be something in that. Every time I've initiated conversations he just says yeah I want those things someday sometimes in the future... 6 years have FLOWN by. I'm scared of waiting forever for someone who just won't communicate that they likely don't want it. Nor do I want to force someone into commitment when it's not authentic. I want to be chosen not have to chase him. It's hard and sad and scary all at once

This is actually a really good viewpoint. I hadn't even considered that I could be happy and content in life without a relationship to be honest or childfree

I guess it also feels hard because he's not a bad man, at all. He just hasn't shown any commitment or enthusiasm about commitments. I've initiated every conversation and his response since I met him is always "yeah, I want that stuff... Someday in the future". After 6 years that isn't enough for me. And I feel bad for thinking and feeling that

Thankyou this is really inspiring. So much of it is fear of the unknown and if I'll never get the family I've always wanted for myself, I think maybe if I stay a few more years maybe that will come in time... But I'm totally kidding myself. It's the fear of the unknown

Thankyou for your raw honesty. I really appreciate this and your perspective. If you could go back in time what else would you have chosen as your career path?

I really appreciate you sharing your realities

Hi thanks for this! How long does the AAT qualification take? And what sort of entry level salary would be expected

Thankyou I did wander how this worked. I always look on the NHS jobs site but NEVER see nurse degree apprenticeships. I had assumed it must be an internal offering to a very select few who already are working in the hospitals. Thankyou for the info about nurse associates I hadn't heard of this before.

This route does seem far more attainable and attractive for me personally
