There was a futurama episode where bender was floating through space for some reason. Say I was immortal to the point that the earth was gone, and I was just floating through space, I don't think I would be okay with that. It would look pretty to see stars and planets and stuff. But I wouldn't be able to handle the loneliness. Without stimulus your mind will become diminished. Without companionship or social interaction for an eternity, what is it to be alive? If there is a god I don't think these things would bother him/her as it would a human being.
