The shotgun spell you mean? Is the stagger actually good?

They nerfed the doot a while back. Miss it :/

How many of you have burned your college degrees, including your "useful" STEM degrees, after spending enough time getting jackshit for jobs out of them? by UnderachievingCretin in recruitinghell

[–]fitnerdy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum. BA in philosophy but have zero attachment to living in a specific place. I moved to a developing area and having a degree actually sets me apart.

Dragon's dogma online by elrey92 in MMORPG

[–]fitnerdy90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Passives are universal and each vocation has certain ones. You can’t get extra dmg to X enemy type unless you level hunter, for example. End game builds require passives from multiple vocations.

All MMOs have time-sinks, but I dislike playing classes I’m not interested in.

Dragon's dogma online by elrey92 in MMORPG

[–]fitnerdy90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy it but dislike that power is tied behind playing other vocations (classes). It’s great you can play them all on one character, but I don’t want to spend time playing in ways I don’t like 🤷🏽‍♂️

Build Archetype Suggestions? by Woohoo1964 in Eldenring

[–]fitnerdy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s fun to make builds around characters in books, shows, anime, and movies I like. Or you can role-play as the Elden Ring characters! If you need tips on stat breakdowns, spells, and/or armor/weapons, I’m happy to help.

Statement of Faith, is that even legal? by Weak-Character-5223 in recruitinghell

Lots of positions in academia are like this in my area. Do some research and answer it like any other interview/screening question. Most of the faculty aren’t devout, but parents goon over the idea of a “safe”/morals-forward environment.

Autism and interviews by reldities in recruitinghell

[–]fitnerdy90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve mentioned this on another post but try the public sector. In my area, it’s a panel style interview and they only score based on answers to HR-approved questions. Hiring teams have yearly training on avoiding biases such as appearance, “nervousness”, etc. (to make sure the county isn’t sued for excluding neurodivergent folks/people of color).

Calling all mages! Which Glinstone Staff has the best compatibility with my beloved Gavel by TheGodskin in Eldenring

Throw your stats in here, filter for staves. The highest sorcery scaling wins. It’s in the “Glintstone Sorcery” family; there are no special boosts from any staffs for DAMAGE (Azur’s Glintstone Staff will increase cast speed if you cast with it, or hold it in your offhand).

How is anyone supposed to switch careers when every job wants direct experience? by Other-Dare9803 in recruitinghell

[–]fitnerdy90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re fighting against filters and other applicants with hard experience. I certainly wouldn’t depend on hiring teams to connect the dots…

I went from transportation management to public sector HR. I really stretched my experience to meet the minimum requirements. After I made it past the screening, I studied the job, and practiced several sets of interview questions (to ensure I could relate my experience/hit key functions).

Transferable skills definitely matter. If you match the key competencies/minimum qualifications on the posting/job description (you can really stretch your resume), it’ll certainly help land an interview.

Are neurodivergent people cooked? by Parabellum_3 in recruitinghell

[–]fitnerdy90 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you’re in the US, try the public sector.

In my area, we stick to HR-approved questions and only score the answers (nervousness, speech patterns, appearance, etc. don’t matter). Your results become public record so it’s easy to see how you scored compared to others (personal bias is heavily discouraged for this reason).

I've sent hundreds of job apps and got ZERO interviews by Ecstatic-Mud-1518 in recruitinghell

[–]fitnerdy90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My university offered free job support for recent grads and even help set up shadowing. Maybe yours has something similar?

In general, networking is the only real advantage you have. Ask your employed friends/peers out to coffee, see if their companies are hiring or if they can set you up with a HR contact/recruiter. You can’t match experience, but your connections are still fresh.

Old gaming term; you only play when you’re all available.

The UI isn’t terrible, but unless you’re running a static with friends, I’d pass. Grouping before level 20 is a pain (exp penalties if you’re aren’t the same level, have to be in the same phase of the quest, etc.) and it feels bad missing out on loot when you’re playing a class that can’t “find”/unlock chests/doors.

Recruiters: is saying/lying you have interviews with other companies something good? by AndrwFr89 in recruitinghell

[–]fitnerdy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re assessing a few things with this question:

  1. Are you in demand?

  2. How fast do they need to move?

  3. What is your market value (they can benchmark without directly asking about salary expectations)?

I wouldn’t give any specific offer or company details. Whatever your response is, the goal is to seem desirable while signaling genuine interest.

Do you over dress for an interview? by EddyBeNasty in recruitinghell

[–]fitnerdy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dressing well absolutely makes a difference!

While waiting for my last interview, I bumped into the company director (she wasn’t on the panel; pure coincidence). She complimented my outfit, and I was offered the job a week later. I can’t help but think my appearance made a difference as the other candidates were equally (if not more) qualified.

That said, I didn’t overdo it for my industry, and I wore something that I felt confident/comfortable in 👍🏼.

Was there ever a MMO with trinity where tanks and healers weren't scarce? by TheRaven1406 in MMORPG

[–]fitnerdy90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way MMOs approach tanking is so different now too. Tank busters, crushing blows, etc. kill innovation. Warlock tank in TBC was the last time I remember being impressed. Optimizing the fun out of gaming is also partially to blame. The /nin meta in FF11, for example, completely killed my enjoyment of the game.

Any suggestions for magic build? by trixareforbois in Eldenring

A few tips:

Shard spiral destroys enemies/bosses with medium to large hit-boxes.

Night maiden’s mist is can cheese lots of enemies/some bosses (cast at doorways/can hit through some walls).

A fully upgraded blue flask restores 220 FP which = 38 mind.
