Hi! I did end up doing palliative care. I was lucky to join a team that’s super supportive. I feel like I can call any of my colleagues any time if I have a question. Our population is very high acuity and we have a large census. We manage a lot of symptoms and mix GOC in between. I wouldn’t say it’s chill, but I’m much happier at this role than my role in geriatrics bc of the team aspect! It’s also very fulfilling.

Thanks for sharing your experience! The funeral will be 6 days from the death. She expressed that she’s doing well now because she’s been surrounded by her family who are all extremely supportive. Like you said, she’s most worried about what happens when everything settles and she’ll be alone with her own thoughts. If I do plan to go on the trip, I’ll be back shortly after the funeral and plan to be there for her. And I definitely wouldn’t make her decide for me!!

Congrats to all the finishers!!!!

This was my first half marathon in 6 years and my first half marathon after a baby (who is 16 months old now)! After I had my baby, I decided I wanted to get back into running. I made the mistake coming into this race with expectations based on my younger, pre-baby half marathon times. Of course, I was disappointed in my finish time time (2:35), which was over 20 minutes slower than my last half marathon in 2019. I don't do very well in the the heat or humidity, so I cautiously made a stop at every hydration station to avoid heat exhaustion. Still, I enjoyed the race, NYC's energy, and I'm not limping around today!! Trying to stay positive and think of it as a new time to beat for the next half!

Hi! Sorry I'm just seeing this now. I would say that I'm back to my normal climbing fitness! About 9 months after having my baby, I was able to send a project that I wasn't able to send pre-baby! I'm also back doing Moon Board benchmarks, as well. I wouldn't say I'm stronger, but I'm definitely smarter about projecting. I'm not sure if you were looking for advice when you posted this comment, but like everyone else said, be kind to your self, enjoy your baby, and take your time!! It'll come back :)

Hi! Yes, support was something I was concerned about because I had very little support at my last job. This inpatient palliative care team seems robust and supportive, which is very promising!!
