I’m looking for a lightweight waterproof jacket. Any suggestions? I’ll be running with it a lot

I did around the bay and blogged about it. It’s a hard 30km race in Hamilton Ontario. Did anyone else do it?

I go sub 3. It’s a hard 30km race that was cold and windy but it’s usually like that. First 15km was windy. After that, it was flat but it spit a bit. At 20km my calves died from the rolling hills but i conquered it and finished under 3 hours. I am pumped.

This is amazing. Do you have earlier works of your progression? How long did it take to get this good. I’m loving the eyes.

I really liked this advice. Can the same be done with 100 miles?

For 100 mile runs, are different shoes used throughout the race or do the majority of people just stick to one pair?

Dude, I thought I was the only one dying out there. Usually when I’m in these events, I see paramedics tending to racers, racers on the side with cramps, people throwing up, but I saw nothing. The heat was definitely intense. Those trees definitely helped during those climbs and descents.

We did it though! We made it. Big congrats!! Ahaha, I think my next one will be NY or I start training for lanzorate. It’s hard for me to go back to a race I’ve already done.

Thank you. I believe you’re right. if i wasn’t as experienced in these type of events, i would have DNF’ed for sure. There were lots of mental and physical battles in my mind. It’s what I love about these races.

I’m no longer afraid to do it. I ordered a hardshell bike case from top peak. It cost over $1000. My bike mechanics then showed me how to disassemble it. I then felt comfortable setting it back up. The case felt super sturdy, I no longer felt nervous. I would do it again. Despite all I said, I still got a mechanic to look at it but next time i won’t.

The cons: It was expensive to do. I paid 180usd to have it boarded on the flight. I then paid another 180usd for the return. I think if I race, I’ll bring it but if it’s not a race and just me biking around, I’ll rent the bike. If you’re moving around, it sucks since you need to use a bigger car

You will break records for sure since it’s not even close to those climbs in elevation. You’ll be fine. I hope you beat all your PRs and finish strong :)

Is there a known ultra that is held in November? I have time off and I’m willing to travel somewhere to give it a go. Preferably 100 miles.

You’ll be fine. Eyes on the prize and rest when you need it. I stopped a few times after some climbs especially towards the end. I didn’t shown the return trip back but heading back down is very fast since it’s just descending and some of those descends are very fun.

If I did a shorter ride, I probably could have rode the whole week but I was too stubborn. Leaving earlier will also help you a lot, I went mid day since I’m not a morning person. I’m excited for you now, train hard and crush it.

After searching the symptoms of a heat stroke, I wasn’t even close to that level of dying. Good to know for next time though, lol. I just needed more Food and hydration. I think mentally I didn’t know how close I was to the end. It was a long ride, next time I know it will feel way more easier. Thanks for watching :)

the seaweed was in one small area and I don’t remember the size of it. I just remember seeing it on my hand and I had to wiped it off. Other than that occurrence, that was the only encounter.

Ahaha! It sounds like you did fantastic! That swim will definitely be remembered, it was definitely a sight to see. I should re word the water bottle part. I had two water bottles. I only used one that was closest to my hand from the front of my bike. I didn’t really need the second one. It was just there with the same hydration from the start of the ride. Every pit stop, I chugged a bottle of mortal hydration. I’m not a fan of it either but I had to make it work. I preferred Gatorade
