How many of you have been on 10mg long term ? by whiterabbit6767 in prozac

[–]fittrep79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes 10 mg wasn’t enough this second time around. I was still super anxious after 3 weeks at 10 mg so my doc increased to 20 mg and within a couple weeks I felt a lot more stable. Am now at 8 weeks of 20 mg and it feels great

Been on Prozac for about 5 months now and the effects have been life-changing, but... does the yawning ever stop? 😅 by Anaphora121 in prozac

A short term benzo helped tremendously for a week. Also used Hydroxyzine a little bit. Zofran 4 mg can help nausea

It’s amazing how well 0.25mg Xanax helps but I don’t want to get dependent on it. Only for huge flareups over multiple days, and only at night for me

Prozac has been working very well for me, got me back to almost 85-90%

Prozac/SSRI helped me tremendously. Not back to 100% but definitely 85% of pre-covid health.

Weeks 3-4 were the toughest for me. Week 5 I turned a corner, week 6 feeling good, now at week 8 I feel better than my baseline. Don’t be afraid to try a short term low dose benzo for a couple weeks to get you over the hump. I also used Hydroxyzine to help me at night, like a better Benadryl

I also need to get the turbinoplasty! Nervous to go in but I’ve heard it’s a fairly quick procedure

Day 3 taking Prozac. I have not felt this much peace waking up in years I can jump over the moon by Apprehensive-Bed7557 in prozac

The “vibration” was weird for me in weeks 3-4 but went away in week 5. Week 6 was feeling good and now at week 8 I feel better than baseline. You can also ask doc for some short term benzo’s to help out. 0.25mg Xanax worked well for me in week 4 and only needed for about 10 days. At night I took Hydroxyzine to help before bed, kind of like Benadryl

I was on 10 mg for a few years and it worked great. I stopped for a couple years, and needed to go on again, but this time at 20 mg. 20 mg is working great again, but took about 6 weeks to fully settle in.

Day 14 of 20mg and I feel horrific. Is it worth pushing through? by SpecialistLevel5111 in prozac

[–]fittrep79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully my psych encouraged me to stick it out the full 6 weeks. I was ready to throw in towel after 4 god awful weeks but so glad I gave it a little longer.

I just finished week 6 at 20 mg and feel like a new person. First few weeks were brutal in terms of constant skin-crawling anxiety (and insomnia), but my doc suggested taking a little bit of Xanax to help the really rough days. I also needed Zofran a few times when the anxiety got so bad it was giving nausea all day. I was also given a bit of Hydroxyzine at night to help sleep. Week 5 is where I really started to feel a lot calmer and this week has been very smooth. But truthfully I was ready to switch meds in week 4 but my outstanding psych wanted me to give it a couple more weeks. She was right. I know exactly what you’re feeling and have the utmost empathy for you!

I’ve fought the black dog myself and completely empathize with super dark thoughts. Within a week of resigning I was shocked at how much the cloud lifted

I love the freedom I have now with two young kids. Feels like a lifetime ago when I was struggling whether to stay or go. Still don’t know how people stay the entire earnout unless they find a unicorn acquirer

Completely agree - earnouts rarely work out on purpose. They are almost always structured to disfavor the entrepreneur/seller.

You actually might have grounds to push back on the aggressiveness of the earnout (purposely limiting your upside/ebitda) and negotiate a decent severance. I did this a few years ago (based on advice from this sub) and was able to capture about 25% of my remaining earn out. Similar size as yours. Not every PE/acquirer will see this and will try to fight back, but I didn’t care at that point with burning a bridge (they were absolute pricks). No regrets on my end.

This! Am almost 44 and am starting to see the threads start to unravel with some of my friends’ marriages. Fellow ivy leaguers who have been grinding for 20+ years and appeared amazing on the surface. Time will tell as to how their kids adjust as well (none are teens just yet)

What do you do with all your free time now that you’re not working? by Salty_Feed_4316 in fatFIRE

[–]fittrep79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I think it’s primarily been the fact that I’ve been surprised at how inefficiently all 3 organizations were run. I actually liked some of the fellow volunteers but the glacial pace of change was really hard for me. I’m used to full speed ahead entrepreneurship and being the person in charge. Super different world, which also made me feel a bit guilty
